So just a quick update, on my commute today I recorded the following results, which I'm fairly sure is proof positive that V4 mode is still working even with the Module, so in other words the module does not override DFM when simply cruising it will still go into V4 mode, see below:  

 

1) 5 miles of travel with cruise control set @ 70mph, average fuel economy 22.2 mpg (6 a.m. commute)

2) 10 miles of travel with cruise control set @ 70mph, average fuel economy 20.8 mpg (6 p.m commute) 

 

The route is on I-95 in central Virginia, includes a fair mix of hills and flat terrain.  And for what it's worth, I also noticed, when I set the cruise control to 75 mph, the fuel economy in our trucks goes way down, it must be the gearing, because it dipped to something like 16-17mpg compared to 22mpg at 70mph over a 5 mile run. 

 

I have the 5.3L V8, L82 EcoTec3, with 6 SPD Transmission

I believe the L82 is AFM.
