Open end Wires near E-Brake

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a 2011 sierra 1500 5.3l Z71 with Trailer Package.

I noticed some wires just behind the e-brake and wasn't sure what they would be used for? i assume i have a brake-controller for trailer as i can set trailer brake gain.

Any suggestions one what this might be?

Everything appears to be stock within the cab.

Could be for a vehicle tracking module?  But really, it could be for almost anything.  If you really want to know, you need to trace the wires and see where they connect to.

If you have the Integrated Trailer Brake Controller, those wire would not be for that.  There is a bundle under the dash for an aftermarket controller and this could be that.  The wires are originally just bare ends, someone has used these, whatever they are.  If you have the ITBC, the controller is on the left knee bolster under the light switch and have option code JL1 in the RPO Sheet.
