It’s a figure of speech, but you know that. It’s not really about the game. It’s about the personality’s playing. Same as NASCAR, football, etc. You feel a connection. Their your team the good guys. You want the good guys to win. And it’s a diversion from the game of life. It’s all just a game.

This post reminds me of the 2016 World Series. Chicago Cubs vs. Cleveland Indians.

Cleveland was spanking that ass until game 4 and just quit playing. Cubs came back and skeet skeet skeeted all over that bitch.

There were an annoying gaggle at the bar constantly playing that "Go Cubs Go" song on the jukebox and this one particular bitch who shaves her head constantly talking about her "Cubbies".

I never had much interest in professional baseball but I did then. Cleveland let me down.

I was looking forward to playing that song to a Cleveland win.

I was never into MLB or for any televised sports either. Growing up I watched relatives screaming and yelling at the TV, didn’t want to be like that, found myself working so much and then got into traveling, still traveling, semi retired now lol. I’ve never met anyone at a game that didn’t annoy me after a few drinks lol

You got that right. After Gordon retired I never have the same level of interest in NASCAR. It's not the same, even if he is in the booth.
