RJP44 Posted November 10, 2019 Posted November 10, 2019 The radio is saying XM radio No Signal, reception may be blocked. Called Sirius and they are pretty sure there is something wrong with the radio / antenna on the truck, as they have sent several refresh and activation signals with no luck. Has anyone dealt with something like this? Its not getting any signal at all and it was working fine a couple days ago. I also noticed that the info for the stations and songs playing on the AM/ FM side is not showing the details. I guess there is a satellite module somewhere in the truck. ANyone know where that is located or something i should try to get this to work without going to the dealer?

You did not list year of truck, if it an early one (14, 15) you might have a leak around your antennae that has corroded the inside of the unit.

Truck is a 2015 Unfortunately, the first generation of the "sharkfin's" like to leak. You can pull down your headliner and check it. Pretty sure the XM module is in the glove box (behind it), along with a whole lot of other stuff. There are videos on you tube about changing it out.
RJP44 Posted November 19, 2019 Author Posted November 19, 2019 Will I need to pull the shark fin off entirely or should I be able to see everything once I drop the headliner?

You will see the wires, and the nut that holds the "fin" to the truck. Would think you will be able to see signs of rust, or any water intrusion at that point.
TheDave29 Posted July 5, 2022 Posted July 5, 2022 As stated above it is most likely the shark fin antenna. Had the exact same problem on my 2014 Silverado. I was also getting no GPS signal on my navigation. (Shows up on the map screen in the upper right corner with a GPS logo with a red X over it.) Search Youtube for "How To Remove Shark Fin Antenna! 2014-2018 Silverado/Sierra OnStar Fin!" and you will see it is an easy replacement. Replaced it and immediately fixed my XM signal and GPS signal. 1
