I agree.  I can also understand that the colour of the buttons/lights/trim on the dash of your vehicle can be less than optimal for your personal (subjective) tastes. Blaming this on the price of your vehicle is a bit of a head scratcher.  I find that focusing on the big picture keeps me from fixating on the trivial stuff.

This is what happens when people overextend themselves.

They buy too much truck for their income level, then buyers remorse sets in when they realize they have to curtail their standard of living for the next 5-8 years (LOL, taking an 8yr loan on a vehicle) and they start looking for things to bitch about.

Hell, one guy the other day didn't think the leaf springs on a brand new truck should do leaf spring things.

I find it to be a funny that some of you people assume that because we mentioned the cost of the truck that we can't afford it and cry wolf after. LOL

I paid cash for my truck I don't need a loan if you need one that's great for you. Wish you were in a better financial situation.

Not all comments are about being able to afford it, the comment is based on when you spend that much money you expect a little better quality. Especially when other production lines of the same manufacturer do offer it.

I doubt the "quality" is different between Silverado and Sierra knobs.  If money isn't an issue then it sounds like switching to Silverado knobs solves your problem with the chrome colour.  Remember to take before and after pictures for those following your thread.

It’s actually my thread, but I’d love pics if Taz switches them out. This was supposed to be a simple thread, yet again on this site, just asking what others have done if they weren’t happy with the rings. Of course it’s getting off topic with how much you paid, making fun of people, etc....

was just curious if people that weren’t happy about the chrome did anything, and if so, what they did... simple....

You can spend cash and still overextend yourself.

If the knobs are such an issue then why did you buy the truck in the first place?

Would you have bought a ridgeline if it had really really nice knobs?

I am certainly not one of those people.

I did what I did and I'm failing to see why it's any of your concern, or why it's any of your concern what I'm happy with or not happy with. You're not offering objective advice you're criticizing my comments, and honestly I could care less for your opinion at this point.

There was a thread posted by someone else, I agreed and I posted. I'm done with this thread you have yourself a great day

Fair enough, that is true I said that. Sticker price was 70, but if I said I got a deal it takes away from the comment. But thank you for being the posting police good sir. Wear your badge with pride.

I never said you were one of those people, yet you took up a defensive position behind the thought.

Why is that?

You did post on a public forum for people to read, correct?

Who are you to tell people what, when or why they are to respond on a public forum?

Seems like you are the one wanting to be the posting cop.

For a tool like you I will come back. You obviously wanted me to as you quoted me on here knowing I would get a notification. So here is your reply.

Yes I am on a public forum. But most people (like myself) come to places like these for advice, idea's, bounce thoughts around, find a good deal on parts, figure out how to DIY and to maybe find something they never thought to ask. Then there are trolls and idiots that either are having a slow day or maybe they have shitty lives and they have nothing better to do that turn the post or comment 180 degrees for their own enjoyment.  For example me saying that for what I paid I expect more than something that looks so cheap and it got turned into comments about affording the truck LOL.

Anyways. How did you say it "Grow some skin" LOL... are you 10?

Take care and all the best. I really do hope you enjoy your truck they are a great truck (with some cheaply made parts inside).

Exactly... people just can’t reply to the actual topic in these forums half the time....

    • Common Sense Assembly   Your driveline is forgiving of the occasional mistake. It will even often forgive the random serious blunder. But it will not forgive a continuous bad habit.      What? Not everything needs to be a five thousand word essay.
    • We drove about 15 minute east today to visit a friend and saw a steep increase in price in the same county. About 50 cents a gallon steepper.
    • Sure about that? A degree wheel and a dial indicator would lower your degree of assurance in that statement. 😉    It why we have offset keys and dialable timing sprockets. Just say'n.... I've built a few and have never seen one "On the money".
    • I will admit I haven't experimented much with pressure drops beyond the numbers I put in and part of that is that the numbers I used are fairly low and then found out it would trigger regardless at that 35 psi. Having said that I had tried before had changed the placard pressures and being that I have a 1 ton set to 80 on the placard for the rear I believe it triggered close to 60, the front I don't recall now for sure but thought maybe it could get close to 45 from that factory 60 placard pressure. So I never did figure out if it was a number of psi from placard pressure to the alarm or a percentage of the total placard number as some figured it was like a 25% drop from placard pressure would trigger it. So as to try and answer your question, I believe I set the placard pressure on the front to 47 or so and while I run the front tires at 40, they have dipped below that some if its colder and I haven't put "winter air" in yet and never once have had the front alarm go off. I would say that the answer your looking for is no, that if you set your placard pressure to 45, you have a certain amount of room to drop below that pressure before the alarm will go off.    The pressures you decide to run in your truck, that ends up being what makes sense to you based on what your carrying in your truck or if towing, then have to bump them back up to something that will carry the load in the rear and the fronts typically left at the same pressure. It all comes down to that chart I put the link to and using an accurate roadside scale to be your guide, both unloaded and then loaded to know your minimum safe pressures.    I just wish GM would allow a person to change the readings for the tire pressures to the English system of pounds as I have to look at that goofy metric reading that will never ever jive in my head and will go over and change it just to figure out what they are if need be and then change it back.
    • That part I understand, that the dealer can do it. But I'm not understanding why updates that were available to the truck since it left the factory, or the dealership originally, would not still be available to it without dealer intervention.   I'm thinking along the lines of recalls. They stay available until they are completed, regardless of whether they are in warranty or not, or in the hands of the original owner or not. Why not updates as well, especially since some of those can be safety related also?
