Adding CarPlay

2016 silverado without CarPlay. I have been reading serval posts here and would like input options.

If I have a 2016 and CarPlay was NOT installed because they were no modules available early 2016 and I have the RPO CPO

1. Do I have the proper radio.

2. Do I have the correct USB

3. I assume I have a 2.0 HMI

if it’s as described as above I assume yes to all. 

So I assume I only need a HMI 2.5 programmed with my VIN.

Costal Flash as emailed me and says above is probably correct. BUT I’m not getting any other response from them.

prices etc.

i called pretty much each day the past few days....no return calls.

 

any other solutions suggestions. I would really like definitive answers to 1,2 and 3.

Might just be me but coastal seems to cost triple the amount of wams

I had WAMS do my programming to add carplay/android auto to my 2015. I needed the HMI, radio module, and usb port to do mine since it is a 2015

ok ordered from costal flash couple hours ago. They said my 2016 will only need the new supplied hmi 2.5 programmed with my vin. MY io5 and usb are hardware that is already in my 2016 so Ill be good to go to just swap out hmi. I also got shipping info about 10 minutes ago its on its way WOW.

Also PMing costal flash worked for me. And they gave me a little Christmas present little less then WAMS wanted. Thanks. Sad to think the dealer gave me $150 credit for not having CARPLAY in the 2016

yet look at the REAL expense of getting it in the truck.

With WAMS they are a little more, but you do get new hardware with warranty.

They are one of the two dealers venders I mentioned. I’m sure the guy I bought from will stand behind his work. And the warranty doesn’t mean a thing if it’s not  a gm warranty. It’s a vendor warranty. Not concerned about that I was concerned about lack of input from wams when I was asking email questions.

It IS a GM warranty. Our parts come from a GM Authorized ESC and carry the standard one year GM warranty and that service/parts are Factory Warranty (if applicable given vehicle age) and GM extended warranty compliant. I'm also quite perplexed about which lack of input was the issue considering we replied to each of your emails in well under 10 minutes... which is interesting given your first post.

We told you exactly what to order, that it was brand new with GM warranty and what the price was. I'm not sure how much more concise you could get with that as we didn't even have to guess since we have access to GM's warranty system we pulled your build saw you had the HMI credit and knew immediately what to do.

I also found it it strange that you said you didn’t hear back from Coastal and even so after calling multiple times they were non responsive. Then you say they were extremely helpful.

Sounded like conflicting statements to me.

I’ve had nothing but positive experiences from WAMS and I know they do things that way it is supposed to be as if it came from GM that way.

I have a 2015 Silverado LT and i would like to upgrade my side mirrors. 

They currently have power, defrost only.

I would like a harness that allows for Power, defrost, side blinker and all that jazz. I am mechanically tuned but what prefer your harness that allows less time installing on my end.

I'm interested in upgrading my HMI to a 2.5 from a 2.0 so o can add dangerous l Android auto and carplay. I have a 16 Silverado 2500. Does anyone know the part number for a HMI 2.5 with no navigation?
