2018 power steering quit while driving.

Hey all. Truck is at the dealer and I didn’t wreck it luckily. Driving to pick my son up after school dash said service power steering and then I had none. No warning, noises smells just flat quit. Truck is a 18’ crew cab 6.5 nht. Any one else had this happen?  Truck has 16800 miles or so on it. Never off road or anything. It’s warranty and I am in a loaner. Just wondering on experiences.  If my wife had been driving I’m certain she would had wrecked. These things are a beast to turn without it working.

Update they are ordering a new steering rack and module(?electric motor?). The hope to see it Tuesday but with holidays and stuff I won’t get my hopes up of seeing my truck back until after Christmas. On a side note. The 2020 equinox they gave me to drive is noticeably louder inside from road noise. The radio didn’t work for the first hour in the morning. No backup cam, radio zero function.

Please keep us posted on this issue.  Smacks of the one that started with the electric power assist in 1997 that is plaguing pretty much all of us.  Often relates to the stabilitrak and grounding issues.
