Can I change my transfer case and put a normal 2wheel drive tail shaft on my transmission

It's most likely a gas engine, with a 4l80e transmission.

 

While you can convert it to 2wd, it's not easy.  The output shaft  of the 4l80e is one of the first parts you install when assembling it, so you have to remove the transmission, completely disassemble it, put in the 2wd output shaft, and then put back all the other parts.  And bolt on the tailshaft housing.

 

If you do this, you might as well either:

-get a 2wd 4l80e, either new or used and just swap the transmissions (and sell your 4wd 4l80e for about the same money)

-rebuild your 4l80e as you reassemble it.

It might also have the 4l60e, which I believe is a similar hassle to swap the output shaft.
