Definitely get rid of the flapper valve , Then test it and see how you like the sound with the screens in place.. Cover them up if you want louder

What one did you get I got this one sounds good but need to get my resonators closed up I had the flapper removed.

I will give some different advice.

 

I would leave at least one of the flappers.  They are there to mitigate undesirable sounds coming from DFM and those sounds become very noticeable with a louder exhaust.  I couldn't honestly tell much of a difference in volume between no flappers and adding one back, but could tell that some of the DFM silliness went away when it was added back.

There is only one flapper on the 5.3 I had it cut out and covered  the screen’s just right sound. Don’t know the part # on the muffler just know it was the 22”long one

I did the same though kept the screen in the rear (existing exhaust pipe in great shape). If you want, you can wrap the screens but I did not see the need.
