Valve cover removal

I want to check what valve springs I have after seeing several posts regarding early 2014s with yellow springs (IIRC). I live a way from town so was wondering if people with experience could chime in with whether the valve cover gasket usually needs changing or stays in place & reused without issues.

Its reusable.  It will probably pull out of the cover when you remove it but just pop it back in.  One of the few reusable gaskets gm didn't eliminate on the LT.
