Thanks for the input guys. I'll definitely be getting the tilt sensor and glass break added for now. I see you guys are in Dallas, is the wheel theft on the Chevy's high there? I'm in Houston and for some reason these guys seem to be targeting Chevy's heavily.

Yeah seem like Dallas and Houston are the hot spots for these trucks, I wanna protect my investment

Its more then what leaves a comfy feeling. My neighbor's friends chevy just got stollen from the mall in hurst over the last weekend. Check the web for stolen chevy trucks in Dallas and Houston. A few articles should pop up. Smh

I installed a compustar the day I got the truck. Been very happy with it, easy install as they make plug and play harnesses.

I have a www.compustar.com 2way Alarm with Remote Start and their www.dronemobile.com LTE module and app. The system comes with built in glass break, impact detection, remote start, GPS tracking, etc. Very happy with it, works perfect and was installed with a factory style T-harness so that very few wires are cut. Most Compustar 2way systems now come with the LTE App included in the kit.

How many wires were tapped or cut into? Sounds cool.

The only wired connection was for parking lights. Everything else was T harness. The system was professionally installed, I didn’t do it.
Ah ok good deal. Yea I see how simple it is to pull that harness and delete the alarm. I plan to make it difficult forsure.

I installed my compustar myself, only tapped the parking light wire as well. My opinion is the Tharness makes it alittle harder for the thieves to delete the alarm. Hide the alarm brain well and the harnesses all look the same, where as when an alarm is hard wired you can see the points to just rip the wire off.

Ok this makes for good convo. Cheers.

So where does said harness connect to? My ultimate goal is to tap far away from the bcm and odb2 ports. I saw the harness online and was thinking it looks obvious to a trained eye, so I passed on that. Besides im really a hands on kinda guy and somehow cant deal with out staying busy doing something.

The T harness is at the BCM and OBD. If you want to defeat an alarm you would be better off just disconnecting the battery then trying to unplug this alarm harness. If someone opens the door, smashes the window, etc the alarm is already going off and a push alert is sent to your phone.
