Doctors told Trump many will die you need to isolate.

You're right, the recommendation to isolate was theirs.  The decision to isolate was not.  In a scenario like this pandemic, the decision maker can't be concerned with what people think vs following what advisors recommend what is right.

Down the road he’ll say what he really thought. They didn’t isolate for H1-N1. When it first hit it was just like this one. It hit 1000 deaths before any thought was given to it. No isolation order was given. You do remember who was President? Political? Cover given? Naw of course not.

C'mon now.  No cherry picking here.  Trump shut down travel from China early on which was a good move, and it came from recommendations by his experts.  Trump issued social distancing guidelines which was a good move, and it came from recommendations by his experts.  The "buck" stops at his desk, good or bad.  The decisions were his to make as president.  He called himself a "wartime" president, he needs to own his decisions and lead this country out of this pandemic.

And we don't need to wait to see what he really thought.  Just go watch the videos from January.

You really think with today’s medications and communications upwards of 100-200K people we’re going to die? Hardly. You been awake these last few years. He had no choice, no matter what he thought.

Just read an article in the New York post. The malaria drug, hydroxychloroquine was the most effective drug treatment when used for mild to severe symptoms. Of course this was from overseas where they’re not interested in discrediting a president. In contrast it seems only to be used here at a last resort. With the cards stacked against it.

Read the Smithfield meat packing plant was an essential "must stay open" business in South Dakota.  Employee interviews said they were getting sick and only one arm length apart without appropriate gear for protection.  If state gov and the company CEO (or plant manager) would have allowed one of every two employees stay home to recover, the company would have achieved social distancing by default.  Their closed "essential plant" would have produced less, but they would have remained open.

Seems like I am slightly off on my previous numbers  .3-.7 CFR I still error on more pessimistic side but realize that it's looking more closely to be far less than .7

Too much Garbage data to skew imo even USA data is conflicting. Add the other jurisdictions, WHO and CDC etc. Jeesh nightmare global pile of GARBAGE DATA...but cream and truth rises to the TOP so give it more time folks before you realize "DID I GET THAT STUPID OVER THIS?"  Yes, you did....Also, now that we're into the 50k's DEAD in USA it's falling flat on it's face... shocked I am because this is not some outer space Virus or is it?  Even that number is garbage imo but who am I?  It's decelerating nicely so staying home for another month in 90% of USA is absurdly idiotic.

I've been listening to him for a while now. He only changes course when he's wrong and wants to save face.

BTW, did you know the only flu that's been deadlier than COVID-19 in the past 10 years was in 2017-18.

Yes I mentioned that earlier in this thread. Plus many hospitalizations. I believe it was over 800K. And that’s with a vaccine.

Exactly my point. The "vaccine" has been social distancing, which is a serious response, and it still hasn't kept it under the flu numbers which we already acknowledge are high.

Let me pose this question. Without social distancing, how much worse do you think this would have been? I'm curious if you think other major cities would have suffered as much as NYC.

What do you attribute the deceleration to?

I answered this clearly through out this thread. Mardi Gras New Orleans, California, Houston live stock show and Rodeo, spring break especially Miami. Early on had the crowds. Not near the cases as New York. I believe it has to do with age, underlying health issues. A rolling isolation, possibly. Nation wide not necessarily.

I know you mentioned them earlier, but those few isolated incidents would have had infection rates curbed once they returned to social distancing.  I was just curious.  Thanks for the reply.

All of the above?  Unbelievablely, gallant global effort of of mitigation techniques, education, awareness and normal viral course?  Don't think it's just one tactic SON it takes a village to stop Viral spread.  It's nearly impossible.

    • Missing pieces of the Assembly   Detergency vs Solvency   Not the same thing. Detergency is the mechanism that surrounds solid particulates preventing amalgamation. Usually accompanied by a Dispersant whose job it is to keep those encapsulated particles in Suspension. Solvency keeps things that can be dissolved in solution.    Salt is a solid that can be dissolved. Pepper is a solid that cannot be dissolved. A detergent/dispersant is effective on pepper but a solvent is more effective on salt. As long as the solids remain in either state, dissolved or dispersed then they can be be removed with the oil upon change.    How many wranglers does it take to herd cats? Depends on how many cats your herding. How much sponge does it take to soak up water? How much water is there to soak up? Point is most oil blends start with some herding ability and next to zero sponge and recently even fewer wranglers are being sent to do the same job.    So you start with a dozen cowboys and zero cows but at the drive progresses you pick up cows along the way, but not cowboys. At some point you have more cows that the wranglers can handle and some leave the herd. Deposits. And the API has an acceptable number of cows they are willing to let loose. In the ideal world zero is the right number for he rancher but to the butcher....a few lost is fine. This cow is beat to death. Let's move on....   Solvency isn't something oils on the Walmart shelf care about AT ALL. Problem is, you motor does. Fuels driven varnish sticks rings and only a solvent can keep them in check. The bet is that the solids driven portion that plug the expander rings and the oil drain backs and VVT screens and AFM screens will be an issue long before varnish is. Not that it wont be but if they market well enough the consumer can be kept ignorant enough to either believe it is "normal" (A quart in 1 or 2K is normal) OR is kept at bay longer than the first owner is likely to hang on to the unit. Solvency cost money.    Now the OEM's have John Q. Public buffaloed into the belief that the number cows accumulated along the trail is a known and predictable CONSTANT. It isn't. Nor is the rate at which they crossed paths with them. Only the number of wrangles is constant. Or was. Each new generation of oil sees fewer and fewer of them.    So what happens when the number of cowboys is lower (lower TBN) with each seasons trail but the trial is longer (OCI) and the number of cows along that trail continues increase? (Conditions that promote deposits).    For awhile the blenders were on to something. Better bases are harder to degrade (fewer cows) but that was overtaken by a longer trail (OCI) and improved breeding (More cows) while continuing to reduce the cowboy staffing levels (TBN/Aniline #).    Marketing has been successful. We've fired most of the staff, cows breed line bunnies, the trail is ten times longer and we've convinced the boss his ranch is in better shape that it ever was.    That kids is just the cleaning side. The side few pay attention to.

    • Looking for this part for my truck. They don't sell just that one piece and to get it you have to pay over $100 even used for the whole air tube. The piece the hose clamp snaps into that is held on by the screw and nut. If anyone has access to one please let me know.
