More pointless comparisons:

37,000 deaths per year due to Motor Vehicle Accidents in USA - No Shutdown.

88,000 Alcohol related deaths in the USA - No Shutdown, alcohol still legal.

862,000 deaths due to abortion - No Shutdown and still legal.

So you wish to discount the argument as it does not serve your PURPOSE.

Hey let's use them all for the USA: (annual)

  • Number of deaths: 2,813,503
  • Death rate: 863.8 deaths per 100,000 population
  • Life expectancy: 78.6 years
  • Infant Mortality rate: 5.79 deaths per 1,000 live births

Here's a point. 100% of all humans die. Some things we have a choice in. Some things we do not. Some things we can protect ourselves from, some things not.

My point had a specific PURPOSE. In rebuttal of the idea that seasonal flu is worse then 2SARS. Point made.

I hope so!  There's a vaccine for the flu.  We're "naked" with this Wu-Flu.

You know this fells on deaf ears...right?

The shut down. 10,000 point drop in the stock market. 30 million plus job loses. Graduations missed? School days missed? Business closed. Tax revenue lost. Deaths to be determined. Misery to be determined. The loss of the freedom to choose. There’s two sides to this event. The biggest loss, our freedom to choose. Many people die for our freedom. The sad truth is. People could have just stayed home. I’m surprised that people were willing to surrender their choice. Sad.

So, then you've been working full speed ahead, then.  Otherwise, you're one of those "people" you are so surprised at.

No I’m retired. My family business has been as busy as ever. 30 people no one sick. As soon as the restroom are open from Texas to Myrtle beach I’ll be headed there. It will be my first of 4 for this year, like usual . If the casinos are open in Mississippi they will be my first stop, like usual. My about yearly cruise lines are offering a free trip. I may take them up on it. I’ll take precautions. If I get the bug. At least I was free to choose and able to choose to live not just survive.

Pretty sure by now we all know someone who was negatively impacted by this virus.  First and second responders will definitely feel the impact of PTSD and will probably get the care they need, but it's the non-responders that won't have the push to get help.  Losing your job, savings, late on payments, and most of all a family member without seeing it coming will be very traumatic.  One common factor I experienced with everyone I knew with PTSD was trust.  If that person does not have a co-worker, friend, or family member they can be open with and trust, they will shut down and spiral until a coping mechanism is put in place.  I'm not a medical professional, just personal experience with military co-workers.

There is NOTHING I can loose that I can't get back IF I have my life. Dead people can recover NOTHING.

Somebody said the other day we have never had our world shut down. I disagree. Plague shut the word down multiple times with that was the only tool they had to use. Kids!!! Lord.

I'm having trouble with a world that values MONEY over life. Money is an illusion. Life is real. If you think you can't eat without money...WOW. You live in a world where humans are the only creature to rely on money to feed themselves. Give that  half a seconds thought. Look up Ule Gibbons. Then if she were alive I would introduce you to my mother. His female counterpart. If you starve to death in God's world your an idiot.

What's wrong with having no choice but to survive?

A few hundred assembled in Springfield Illinois today to protest the Governors 'Stay at home" extension. A motorcade of a considerable number more circled protesting their stupidity. The Governor said he will defend their right to protest to the end... even when they are wrong.

Illinois is a state that has not yet reached it's peak. Fact is today was the highest confirmed case load to date. Second highest death toll and yet...idiots protest...sue the Governor....act as if their situation is the only one that need be considered. :wtf:

For every hundred braying like mules a hundred thousand are relieved cooler minds prevail.

So what unemployment is close to 29. Your a month into what happened over a decade in the 20's/30's. Get over yourselves.

Right on board with that statement, in no way am I a religious man, but if that is what takes me out, then so be it.

I have lived an interesting life to say the least, and am thankful for the time that I have had on this crazy planet, but know that I am just a blip on the radar in the big picture of things.

I work for a food manufacturing company, our product is in no way ever an essential part of life, we are the ones who keep this ball a rolling, and just read a very interesting article about Brazil, and how they have treated this whole Pandemic, no matter what we do, there are going to be outside forces that we just can not control.

So let’s all go hunting. OOPs we can’t we’re in isolation. You’re a broken record on this one. You can’t seem to realize isolation can cause just as many deaths as an illness. I know I’m wasting my time. But there’s lots of people coming around to the realization we may have done this all wrong.

People who have trouble with an exchange of ideas usually start the name calling. There’s plenty of places in the world one can go where it appears they all have the same ideas.

If people were just happy to survive. We’d probably still be living in caves. Let’s make a wheel. Naa we don’t need it.

I don't think it's been done all wrong.  The travel bans and lockdowns were necessary when the infection and mortality rates were increasing exponentially.  They should have started easing the restrictions sooner, but that's happening now.  Hindsight Bias is always 20-20.

    • Hello hello looking forward to expanding my knowledge of the 2026 2500 HD that I just bought.   Truck has 3500 miles on it four-wheel-drive crew cab and I’m about to put a 6 1/2 inch BDS lift on it 18 x 10 -25 offset with 37’s   Already have the wheels and tires just waiting on the lift install in about three weeks   Question what surprises am I not gonna be happy with?  I’m not new to lifted trucks so I know that acceleration towing gas mileage all that is affected..   Question is those of you that have this truck this powertrain with a 10 speed Allison and have done the mods that I’m doing,,, how bad is it? Is that Allison constantly gonna be hunting for the right gear to go into? And what about towing, acceleration, fuel consumption as mentioned?    Lastly how come I can’t find any ring pinion gear set up for these axles and when could I expect to see them?   I apologize if there’s any typos I’m doing speech to text on my iPhone.
    • I've got a 2013 2500 6.0L Flexfuel. Drove the truck earlier today with no issues. Went to run an errand tonight and noticed key fob wouldn't work. Figured battery was dead, so replaced fob batter. Still wasn't working. Grabbed my other set of keys with the other fob and that one wasn't working either. So I manually unlock truck and insert key. Interior lights come on, dashboard lights up, turn key and truck starts. Turn truck off, like a moron, and try starting again. This time no crank, no click, no nothing. Lights still come on and dash lights up, but now I'm getting a service 4wheel drive, service tire monitor, etc. Check voltage on battery and Im showing 12.2v. Throw my battery charger on it and give it 15 mins and try starting again. But still no crank no start. Decide maybe its a bad battery, run to autozone grab a new one and put it in. Same issue. Disconnect battery and let it sit for 15 mins. Try again and still nothing. I had managed to roll the windows down earlier as its a humid night, but now I can't get them to roll up. Power locks are also not working now. Then randomly I try the key again, and it fires right up. Immediately I roll up the windows as we have nothing but rain forecast this week. I shut it back off wait 30 seconds and start up again. Worked a 2nd time. So turn it off, start putting things back together. Try one more time, and back to no crank no start. And now the car alarm starts going off. Had to disconnect battery and leave it that way for the night as I don't think my neighbors would appreciate my alarm going off again tonight. Any thoughts or help would be appreciated.
    • No one will care for you like you care for you. Do what you can for as long as you can. IMHO of course.

    • Hi there.  Long time lurker, first post.    i have read the previous posts regarding the water ingress problem with this emblem.  I bought my 1500 SLT the  summer of 2025 new and after reading the MANY problems with these emblems failing I decided to install one anyways.  As per a YouTube video, I sealed ( or tried to) this sign with silicone sealant around the outer perimeter joint and the holes that were already somewhat sealed on the rear plate of the emblem.  And installed the connector assembly using dielectric grease on the connectors. The installation looked great and worked well for about 4 months……then FAILURE.  Grrrrrr…… I live in the great white north and wash my truck weekly in an automatic car wash  to keep the salt off.  Let me tell you that removing the old, failed emblem is a whole different animal than removing the OEM individual letters without removing the grill assembly. Mainly because the illuminated logo is built differently than the original letters which  you can remove the red surface lettering with a knife or some kind of blade which gives access to the tabs which hold the logo onto the grill. So I had to essentially destroyed the old emblem to remove it. Doing so killed my chance of doing somekind of autopsy on the failed , old logo.  But there was plenty of water inside when I ripped it apart.  Prior to installing the new assembly I tried it with the old harness and it works fine.   Does anyone have any insight as to where the water is getting into this emblem? I intend to seal the new logo with slow curing epoxy this time around using a syringe.  I think this newer emblem may be an updated unit which I hope GM got the vendor to fix. It has an October 2025 date on it.    If this one  fails,  I am just going to revert back to the non-illuminated letters….AFTER PULLING THE GRILL.    Any thoughts on sealing with epoxy would be appreciated. Thx!   Doug
