Same issue just suddenly popped up on my 2019 Silverado RST.  Just the day before I showed 80%F & 90%R.  Truck has 21k mi. and vehicles has never towed a thing. Had recall completed long ago.  GM really should be shamed that this problem showed up in the first place and the recall obviously was a stop gap to later drive a $1200.00 brake job, sensor programming.  Really???  I know people who put 20k mi on in a year.  That would be an unreasonable cost of ownership.  My 2010 never had such issues and the rear brakes on that last 60k mi.!!!  Has anyone found an actual solution that doesn’t require tossing out perfectly good brakes as I don’t trust my selling dealer to be honest.

I've also had the same issue with brake pad sensors not working. Rear stopped working at low mileage ~10k kms, dealer reset and reprogrammed them according to recall then around 75k kms both front and rear stopped working again they were reading 85-90% when they stopped working and I took it in and dealer told me sensors are part of the pad and wore through due to brake wear and I need to replace pads before they will address the sensor issue. Looking at videos sensor seems to sit on the pad and not part of the pad itself. Also doesn't make sense that brake pads go from 85-90% to very low in short amount of time.

I bought a 2020 Trail Boss in June with 13,000 miles, and the service brake pad sensor warning came on at about 19,000 miles. Any update on this?

I just had my 2019 Chevy Silverado at the dealership one month ago to get a front-end alignment, tire rotation, and tire balancing. They also did a multi-point inspection. No issues were reported. Yesterday I got a “Service Brake Pad Monitor System” message. I’ve already had the “recall” service for this issue so I called the dealership to see if that message meant I needed actual brake service or if indeed it was the “Service Brake Pad Monitor System” that needed service again. The dealership told me the latter and that I needed to bring it in for service. I told them I’ve already done the recall service and asked if this would be covered again under that or would it be an out-of-pocket expense. The dealership said out-of-pocket expense. NOT TAKING IT TO THE DEALER EVER AGAIN, SELLING THE TRUCK, AND NEVER BUYING ANOTHER GM VEHICLE!

Hello

I am wondering if this issue with the brake pad monitoring system has been resolved.

I am about to purchase a 2020 2500 but the " Service Brake Pad Monitoring System" warning is on.

!20,000 KM  front and back brakes and rotors have been replaced 5X and still warning.

I have 3 other GMC / Chevy trucks. 

Do I need to switch?

The last Ford I had was a 1987....

What is the solution to this?  My 2020 Sierra 1500 had a caliper hang up.  The inside pad on the driver rear wheel wore prematurely and the pad life sensor failed.  I replaced all rear pads, rotors, and pad life sensor.  I still get a "Service Brake Pad Monitor" message.  I tried to reset the brake pad monitor.  Both "Front Pads Installed" and "Rear Pads Installed" are grayed out so I cannot select that I replaced the rear pads.

Same Just happened to me-2019 Sierra 1500 SLT, 67xxx kms-Message on the DIC to "Service brake monitor system". Brake life monitor was reset at dealer when the software update was done  for that EBC recall maybe 1.5 years ago. % went from 94/95 Fr/Rear +- to the service message just last week-Jan 14/23. This truck has the Duralife rotors and I can't imagine needing a full pad/rotor job at this time. I bought the truck thinking that the Duralife brake components would stand for many kms. If just changing out the parts (pads + rotors aren't fixing this issue +, infact creating other issues, as reported-"limp mode"), then what can be done to resolve this known issue-this is a $70k truck!!

I have the same problem on my 2019 Silverado.  It’s a daily trifecta of “service brake pad monitor” to “Brake Failure” then limp mode.  Brakes are fine but something is triggering it.  Dealership just says $1200 to replace pads and rotors.  This 2019 has not been anything close to other Chevrolets I have owned.  It’s also sad that you have to complain to get a dealership to react rather than old fashioned customer service.  From what I’m reading, 2019’s are junk from brakes to the transmission.

I fell for this and changed my front and rear rotors & pads. I cannot seem to find front rotors that will fit my truck - 2019 Silverado RST 50k miles. Ended up putting the old rotors back on with new pads. The calipers are right on the rotors, as they were when I started. 


Now the info center is full of lights and warnings. Any clue how to get rid of all of this?  
 

 

need some help!  Very frustrated by all of this.
