Bed light switch

Hello there!

Today I installed a dedicated 12v outlet in the bed ( I’ll be adding my ARB Fridge in the near future)  and while I was at it I installed a switch so the bed lights can be operated at any time.  Both mounted on the plastic filler plug where the 5th wheel plug would be located.

Super easy.  The outlet is wired to my aux fuse box, directly from the battery.  To wire the lights to operate any time you just need to remove the driver’s taillight.  Then you can see the wires for the bed lights LED’s.  Tap into the blue wire and run it to one side of a SPST switch.  The other side of the switch goes to constant 12v hot (the 12v outlet).  Done!  Works great!

I’m not worried about it.

It’ll take a long time for the 2 bed lights to drain that battery.  Once I get the ARB Fridge setup with a slide, I’ll be installing dual betteries. Flip of a switch and I’ll be off.
