Loud creaking grinding noise

Moving slowly my truck made an extremely loud grinding/ creaking noise. Thought maybe u joint or drive train. Has anyone heard this before or know what it is? It's an 04 Silverado z71 105000 miles. After driving it around a minute the loud noise went away.

To me that is the sound of two pieces of metal just rubbing/vibrating against each other. For sure nothing driveshaft or u-joint related.

The truck must be flexing just right to cause something to make the noise. I guess you could do a bolt check to make sure things are snug and even just start bopping stuff with a rubber mallet to see if anything makes a noise with you give it a whack.

Have you checked your parking/emergency brake?  Sounds like it could be frozen in place - had this happen to me on my mother's '69 Buick LeSabre.  One time she applied the parking brake and while the pedal released, the shoes stayed put and the sound from your video sounds just like the noise from her Buick.

Yeah, check the parking brake (maybe first check that the cable & lever going into the hub are releasing).  I've had a truck what the cable would stay pulled out (so the brake would stay applied) when it was released...
