Diablo InTune 8245

I just installed a diablo tune and selected the diablo 93 option and did a few other things. I disabled dod too. My truck still feels sluggish in low rpm and still feels its a gear too high. Super annoying. Power feels unchanged. I see options for spark and fuel enrichment but did not touch them. What is everyone running? Does modifying the parameters put you back to stock? Or is that modifying the 93 tune? Just curious. Might give diablew a call lol

Hey I just did the 93 tune last night on my 2015 z71 5.3. I did not do anything other than the basic 93 and firm trans tune. I have to put 150 miles on it before I can data log for Lew to do the custom DiabLew tune. My truck is stock with 3.42 gears and 34in 295/70R18 tires. I can definitely notice the tune not for the power but the overall drive. The trans is already shifting so much better. I know this does not answer all your questions but I wanted to share my experience.

Do you notice any ping when under light load going up hill before downshifting? I had the 87 tune a few months back and had some. I recently started running 93 and want to try that tune. I went back to stock tune got rid of afm and raised idle to 600 because my truck has a crappy idle. 600Rpm is smooth.

I did 93, afm off, firm shift, and set my tire size and put the throttle sensitivity back to zero and it seems a little better but still shifts way too early i cant stand it. I thought you would be able to increase the MPH at which it would shift at instead of the rpm. It shifts to second and third at such a low rpm it lugs.

What does changing the spark and power enrichment do? I left it alone because I don't know what it does.

you gain the most power from power enrichment, this is the same thing as accellerator pump on a carb.. it gets you out of the hole when you want to move fast.. some model trucks have it turned off by GM, probably something relatated to EPA emmision thing.

No I didn’t notice any but then again I didn’t try the 87. Went right for the 93 since that’s what I ordered from Lew.

Ok. Great. Thanks for the info. I was thinking of doing the Diablew too.

So I decided to go with Diablew Tune. Let me tell you if your thinking about it JUST DO IT. I went with the 91/93 tune and its been great. He tuned my 6 speed tranny as well. Shifts are firmer and there is no hunting for gears. No banging on the downshift either. Its like a different vehicle and I love it. I had to do some WOT throttle logs for him after he sent his initial tune and I drove it about 200 miles. Holy crap. I was at 90 in no time at 5k RPM in 3rd gear. The thing took off like a bullet and its only the 5.3. Completely satisfied with Lew. He is quick to respond and I had my tunes back the same day. Customer service is key IMO. I would highly recommend him. I have read reviews about blackbear and I am sure they are great as well.

    • Ahh, sorry about that - I got some bad info. Newdude is correct. That's what I get for working 13 hours straight ... on my "vacation", lol.   Should've checked the files I had instead of the internet.   Anyway ... this is GREAT news, since this would've been an absolute friggin nightmare to get working.   I don't think the lack of VVT is causing this - you've got another issue. Wiring, I'm betting.   I'm telling you right now, your computer isn't bad. If it worked before the swap, it's working now. You need to do some more (better) diagnostics and figure out exactly what you're missing. Did you test every wire directly at the MAF? Have 5V reference? Ground? If you're reading ZERO g/s, your Hz isn't much use - it's going to be the wrong value anyway. The MAF is not working, and you need to find out WHY.   I got this off the net, so VERIFY first: Pin A: Black (BLK) wire, Circuit 552, serves as the Sensor Return (Ground).  Pin B: Tan (TAN) wire, Circuit 472, carries the Intake Air Temperature (IAT) signal.  Pin C: Yellow (YEL) wire, Circuit 492, is the primary MAF Sensor Signal output to the PCM. Pin D: Pink (PNK) wire, Circuit 339 or 539, provides Ignition 1 Voltage (Power).  Pin E: Tan/Black wire, Circuit 552 or similar, often associated with the Intake Air Temperature ground or signal return.  Global-A list: https://postimg.cc/KKJnQC85
    • Correct....the end user can't reach to Realtruck directly like they can if they purchase a Bak, Undercover, etc...  It has to go through a dealer.
    • It is 4wd. shop told me it is the slip yoke. But not sure.
    • No, I did not tune out vvt. From what I read it should still be able to run without it, it'll just lose some torque/power.    I can see how that would make it not run correctly, but why would that cause the faulty MAF readings?   EDIT: I just ran a quick test and checked, and as I expected, the computer sees that the VVT cam phaser solenoid is not present, and throws a code for it, and does not try to change the cam angle at all. Commanded position just remains at zero, 100% of the time. This makes me think that the VVT is most likely not the cause of the problem though if anyone has a different/better explanation, I'm all ears.   UPDATE: I was able to find that my scan tool does indeed support reading the frequency (hz) off of the MAF (I thought it wasn't supported but turns out I just didn't know where to look for it). I noticed that regardless of engine state it always however this Is not what I observed with my multimeter. Like I said before, the MAF seems to put out a normal signal during cranking and then the signal drops to a very erratic reading once the engine is running. It seems from what my scan tool is telling me that the ECM is not recognizing this at all, and just reads 0 Hz 100% of the time. This pushes me towards the the PCM itself is faulty. I I have the PCM out of the 2007 donor vehicle, which I may try to connect and program (it's only ~50 bucks to get the software for a one-time programming)
    • Did you tune out the VVT?  07-09 they did not have VVT.  2010-2013 they did.      If you haven't tuned it, its trying to adjust cam timing.
