NEWBIE question

We just had our first Real freeze and I noticed the Rear view mirror said ICE

instead of the temp

 

does this mean that it wont read the temp below 32 degrees????

In my experience with that, my temp gauge started to flash "ICE" around 36 or 37 degrees, but it would flash back and forth between the temp and the "ICE." I think this is just a "warning" that there is a chance for ice to form on the roads. Welcome to the board!!!

Trust me, being from Minnesota, I have seen the temp much below "ICE". It will display the actual temp. As previously stated, this is just a warning.

Everyone is right!!! It should cycle back and forth for a short period of time, and then it will begin to display the current temp all the time.
