You also have to remember his is on the third setting which Eibach says is the highest/stiffest setting.  If you use the 2nd from bottom setting the ride will stiffen up more than stock but still provide a more planted and comfortable feel.

Installed Eibach pro lift, like  Ryan stated much better "planted feel" , 3000 miles on Rancho's,  got soft. Still has rake, looking at new wheels and tires next. Couldn't space Trail Boss shocks just to level. Angles on UCA are not bad, but I will replace soon. Thanks Ryan.

I just got this kit delivered today. Aside from the stock struts/springs on the trail boss, was there anything else you didn't need to re-use for the install or add? Planning on putting these in once my spring compressor arrives.

Sorry can't remember if I needed or didn't need to reuse any other parts?. Do know it helps to have extra set of hands available,  especially getting new struts installed.  Needed to raise and lower floor jack on axle to get strut bolts in. Coming up on 2000 miles on truck since installation,  love the way truck handles. Good luck. Go on YouTube and watch some videos before you start.

Just a heads up. I saw on Instagram the other day that eibach was testing their pro truck lift 2.0 with the 19+ trucks. I reached out to them and they don’t know when it will be available but if it’s anything like it is for the last gen we will be getting a 0 to 4in adjustable strut that is fully assembled. You make the adjustment with a spanner wrench similar to the fox shocks.

Well that's just my luck. Every time I buy something the next better version comes out lol, just got a mavic mini and DJI decides to announce the mavic mini 2. Got a gopro hero 8 black...no worries, the hero 9 black is released within a month after getting mine. Eibach pro truck lift....shiet, some new ones are coming out for our trucks lol. Oh well, if I end up upgrading in the future I'll end up with coilovers.

Got around to installing the kit with the help of a buddy. It's a pretty straight forward swap. Noticed the ride doesn't feel like a boat anymore and it barely has any body roll on bumps or trails. It's a bit stiffer but that's because of the better spring rate compared to factory. The rear shocks were shorter than the stock Trail Boss shocks by about an inch and a half but I added some shock extenders from readylift to make up for the loss. At the front I got a little over an inch of lift which is more than enough to clear 35's. As is, 35's with a moderate tread pattern (not too aggressive) will fit with the stock suspension and the back sidewall of the tire will barely clear the upper control arm. You might have to remove mud flaps and trim a little off the fender liner. As far as needing new upper control arms with this kit I really don't see the need (personal opinion) as the ball joint is not over stressed and it's almost still at a straight angle. I feel that adding aftermarket UCA's will be overcompensating and it might stress the ball joint in the opposite direction since most UCA's are meant for 2 plus inches of lift.

For the most part I'm pretty impressed with the setup especially since it's made for the non-trail boss models. If I would've known eibach was making a kit for the Trail Boss I would've waited. Nothing negative to report....yet.

Glad you like it.  What slot did you wind up selecting on the shock?  I'm on the second to bottom and found the ride to feel VERY planted and excellent on the road.  Any plans for off-road trips with it in the future?  I'm curious what your thoughts are on the suspension once you've had a chance to hit some back roads/trails.

I have it set to the second from the top slot (maximum height). Thinking of hitting Hollister Hills again to try it out. There's a video on my channel (jefe z71) of the type of terrain it has. I bottomed out and scraped a lot the last time I was there.

Fantastic, I'm really excited to see your experiences with them off road and to hear what your thoughts are.  Hopefully the lift will provide a little extra clearance for you. Are you planning on increasing tire diameter as well or staying with the 33's?  I'm hoping to do some overlanding with the truck this coming year and I'm trying to figure some things out, tire and suspension wise, to make for a more comfortable experience.

 

As son as I read "Jefe Z71" I knew it sounded familiar.  I actually watched a video of yours last night where you climbed the stair step section of trail.  Nice video's

I'm definitely going for some 35's once these are worn out. Thinking of doing some overlanding/adventure camping as well. Hopefully this kit proves itself this upcoming year. My last resort would be king coilovers and aftermarket upper control arms. So far I haven't hit trails that would require going fast on washboards which is where those kings would come in handy.

Apparently, if you go back a few replies another member mentioned it. Might be worth to upgrade once it's out considering how easy the swap is.

    • Hasn't come up in the 3 gm forums I follow. And only gm knows the frequency of failure of that part. LMG, you want a recall so it's replaced for free...
    • You need a better code reader/scanner.  You are missing codes.  Did the dealer give you a copy of the SAVI scan from that visit?     If the fluid hasn't been changed, change it.  Shudder will likely go away.  
    • TLDR to my other post...   Hard. Pass.  Too many what ifs.     Are you set on a 3.0 Duramax?  Have you considered anything not GM just in case?  If you don't have to have a pickup, lots of other options for $27,000 out there.   
    • I see some red flags.   - No mention in the Carfax if the oil pump belt was changed.  LM2s had a 150,000mi service interval, and its got 164,245mi on it.  So right out the gate it needs about $3000-3500 for that to be done before driving it another 150,000mi.  Belt is at the rear of the engine.     - If something happens to the transmission valve body, the special coverage is expired by mileage.  That will likely be an out of pocket expense, with zero or near zero GM participation if something happened even though its in by time.   - 2020 LM2s seem to need timing chains after 80,000mi at some point.  They fixed this end of 2020/starting 2021 model year engines.  They will usually set a P0016 I think?  There is another $8000-10,000 if it needs a chain.  The main chain is at the back, secondary at the front so the pump belt would be done at the same time if it needed chains.     - Long oil change intervals.  7,000-8,000mi on average, probably close to 0% or perhaps to or beyond 0% on the OLM.  Lots of them not at the dealer which makes me wonder how much of the oil ran through that truck was the proper Dexos D rated 0w20 oil and not just gas engine 0w20, which is not the same at all.     - Long fuel filter changes, again likely taking the fuel filter life to 0% or more.  First one went 28,603, second was done 43,094 miles later at 71,697, from there another 46,452mi to 118,149mi, and then the most recent one 37,026mi later at 155,175mi.  So counting its original fuel filter, its had only 4 fuel filters on it.  No bueno IMO.         Good news?    - It has had only two warranty trips to the dealer.  The first free service (end of December 2020 on the Carfax), and the transmission reprogram recall (end of August 2025 on the Carfax).     - Truck did a LOT of moving, so that might explain the lack of emissions related repairs like bad NOX sensors, bad exhaust temp sensors, bad glow plugs, etc.         The "emissions system checked" could just be how something was flagged for Carfax.  GM dealers have to do SAVI reports for warranty repair orders so they scan the truck.  So its possible that is there for that?  
    • Thank you, @Z45!   NOTE - No all repair shop/Dealers reports to Carfax   That is my main concern.  The CARFAX looks way too clean for a 6 year old anything with 164,245 miles.  Even something known for reliability (like many Toyotas) typically has a lot more replaced, like a Nav screen, interior trim, shock/strut, or brake pads.  And surely the last set of tires (installed at ~58k miles) would be bald unless those were all highway miles.   I'm tempted to pay a local dealer to look up the VIN, but am not sure if that will be worthwhile.  Last time I did this, it was 100% useless, and I felt scammed - they noted the bumper was replaced years ago and that's it.  A 5-year old could spot the accident damage, even though nothing was on the CARFAX.   After giving the dealer a call, the truck may have a hard shift, but they have to verify with their mechanic if that's even a concern.  And I've test driven about a dozen of these now, many near Chicago, and half the trucks shift hard/odd at all throttle positions.  The ones with aftermarket lifts/larger tires shift terrible, and 3 stock trucks shifted so violently I thought the transmission valve body was going out.   At this point I'm conflicted, as I need a vehicle, and am coming up short locally.  Northern trucks in this price range tend to have either multiple owners, a lot of mods (lifts/oversized tires without re-gearing), and are generally in rougher shape.   If this truck showed up in your neighborhood for $27k and you had to purchase it sight-unseen, with the possibility of needing a 10L80 rebuild, torque converter, or rear end - would you do it?  I'm convinced most of the 10L80 trucks I test drove are broken, they can't all shift so bad, with massive flares/slipping/lurching and mis-matched downshifts like a teen driver learning stick.
