Stock oil pan cracked on the inside?? 05 Silverado 5.3

Today I removed the oil pan on my 05 Silverado 5.3L to replace the oil pick up tube o-ring.

When I was cleaning out the stock oil pan, I noticed a bunch of cracks in the inside of the pan. The cracks are located around there the 2 long 10MM bolts go up through the bottom of the pan.

The cracks don’t appear to go all the way through but I can’t judge how deep the spider cracks really are.  Attached are some pictures of the cracks.

Is this strange for a stock OEM oil pan to have this? Or was it just part of the casting when they were made?

I ordered another oil pan just incase. However I ordered a non OEM oil pan, I hope it fits and functions just as the stock one.

I see casting cracks like that all the time, over time I suppose it can get worse.

A new pan never hurts or just glob some JB weld over those cracks and call it good lol.

Had the same issue on my 2004. Opted for a APTDY aftermarket pan and used some permatex “the right stuff” gasket maker along with a felpro gasket. No leaks a year later.  You already have the truck apart might as well follow through with it so its one less thing you have to be concerned about later. Just my 2 cents.
