Curious if anyone has figured out a hack or method to make the rear camera (tailgate) stay on the radio display while driving.  You can hit the camera button on the radio and it will display, while driving, but for only like 10 secs.  It would be really nice to have that available, say for instance carrying a load of wood in a trailer.  While you can see the trailer in the mirror and about 1/4 of the wood, it would be awesome to be able to see the whole trailer and the load.

I am sure there is someone out there that thinks it might be a distraction, so they have time limited it.  Kind of like that auto-start thing where they forced it on you.  Of course, a fix was quick to be provided.. ?

Wish gm wouldn't least make it stay on the screen while in first gear. Having the camera is nice. But hooking up in a congested area and you have to keep looking up for obstacles or somebody walking by and the screen changing on you is a pain.

Aren't you in Reverse when "hooking up" therefore the screen stays on? I'm not sure what you mean

Cheif engineer said that autostop can't be latched (meaning stays in the same state between key cycles) because EPA cycles the buttons then tests. Meaning if you can turn it off and it stays off. That's how they preform the validation test.

(Don't forget the manufacturer self certify their mileage numbers. The EPA only retests "randomly" and when they receive enough complaints (Hyundai 40mpg claim). Regardless of the test results the manufacturer is always free to underrate the vehicle.)

Did I miss something? Where'd EPA come into this?

When driving forward the camera can be activated on radio display, but it only stays on for 8-10 secs and then turns off.

I have a very large boat parked in a tight. Spot in my back yard. I have to back up a couple times with my standard bed crew cab to be at the right angle to get the boat out through a right alley way. If I go past the tongue a little, then come forward, I have a better chance of getting my line the first time. But the clock is ticking on the camera when you shift from reverse. I know. First world problems. This is just temporary though. I plan ro build myself a new front bumper down the road and it will get a built in receiver so I can hook the boat up in the front and push it back into it's spot.
