I just realized this truck did not come with the max trailering package.  So no 3.42. Hope it won't be too big of a deal in towing.

So, what do you plan on towing that you need the extra capacity of the NHT package?

Hey. Probably a 5000 series tractor(randomly for service/gas, etc).

Do you have access to a set of scales close by? This way you can determine exactly what things weigh.

Take your truck with a full tank of gas, and maybe a passenger to get weighed, that way you have a baseline on what the truck weighs, then with the tractor, also filled with gas.

 

Depending on how much the trailer weighs, you probably will be at the high end of what the truck is set up for.

 

The NHT is more than just the 3.42 rear end, it is a several different heady duty items that give it bigger towing numbers.
