Check engine light on

It came on before and went off next day. Wondering what it could be it came on again going to work last night. See if it goes off this afternoon. Gas cap tight, 2015 ltz 6.2  8 speed

Hard to tell without getting a code. Could be lots of things.

I don't have a magic crystal ball. Get it scanned, it's the only way.

So i 100 percent agree with ^^ but a CEL light i had come on and go off the next time I drove it with no issues was a transmission code on my 8 speed 5.3L. Not sure what caused it. I pulled out my scanner and cleared it one time and didn't touch it the other and it went away no issue. Not sure what it could be. Def go out of your way when it comes on and get it scanned. If i can find the codes mine had i screenshot on my phone ill reply again and let you k ow but mine had no driveablility issues when it happened both times within 7K miles and 5 months of ownership.

I took round off battery and pulled mass air flow sensor cleaned it let dry and put back on and light didn’t come back on even after driving it over 12 miles. See what happens in next view days. Think I might of got oil from cold air intake k&n on it. If it comes on again I will definitely invent in scanner
