Crew Cab rear seat compatibility

Is it possible to take the upper half of the crew cab rear seat ad put in on the lower half of the DC rear seat?

I have a double cab and the cup holder / armrest would be nice back there.

I think that is possible. I know the seat bottom is a couple inches deeper the DC. I say if a visual of the mounting between the two is good go for it and post results.

The seat bottom and back come out as one (folding) piece, and pictures online seem to show different mounting brackets on the floor.  I'm sure it's possible, but I wouldn't want to spend the time MacGyvering it to make it work.

Hummm, good question. I'd like to know that too. Sounds like an interesting upgrade for us double door guys. Keep it posted with pics if you get that far.

It is fairly recent that trucks started coming with cup holders placed between seats.  Cabs were traditionally outfitted with true bench seating in color matched vinyl or cloth.  However, I've always enjoyed a cup of coffee while on the road and a lack of cupholders was easily remedied. .  Auto supply stores have many types of seat, floor or door mount accessories that adequately support various beverage containers.  Switching seat backs is a potential solution but the cure far exceeds the benefit, imo.

Well, after taking a look at the exploded diagrams for both I would agree that the headache and expense would out weigh the benefit.

I am not even sure it would work, it looks like the brackets / plastics are different not to mention the CC seat looks like it is actually thicker.

I went with the Texas Saddlebags for the front and looks like I will find something similar (smaller) for the rear.

This will work great! ^^^  I've used the same sort of accessory in various vehicles and they're quite useful.  When it gets too full of junk, it is easily carried into the house and cleaned.  It doesn't have the same appeal as OEM but the money saved can go to something more important!
