American Axle Fire

Just saw there was a large fire at the American Axle factory. Anyone know if HD’s use AA or Dana? Will this delay production of the HD’s??

I think all GM pickups use American Axles and have for the last twenty years or more.

On T1 its AAM and now in house GM for 1500s.  T1 HD are just AAM.  So...this might be a problem more for HD production over 1/2 ton production, but a problem for both none the less.

...He died in 2013...not sure how this article has a tie in with the hydraulic press failure that caused the fire in the Ohio plant that this thread is related to...

There is also an AAM plant in Silao, Mexico where the Silverado/Sierra 1500 crew cab factory is.

I think GM has a winner here with the new HD.  I hate to see them have more issues with supply.  Dealers cant keep them in stock as it is...
