Hi everyone, I seem to be developing a new noise on cold start up (temps below freezing now) with my 2015 6.0L 2500hd With just about 140k miles . It sounds like a power steering pump whine but it is not coming from the belt drive. It is coming from the housing between the engine and the trans. Torque converter I believe. I think it could be the bearing but not sure. It will disappear when the truck warms up after about 15 or so minutes of driving. Trans is shifting perfectly normal.

has anyone else had a similar noise develop? I am also unsure if I want to take this to the dealer or just try an independent shop.

I don't even know if your motor has this part. Starter shield made of plastic. Touches the ring gear and makes that sound. Should lay dead flat.

Replaced the one on my Ecotec3 4.3. Part is cheap...install not so much.

Just a wild thought. Thing drove me round the bend
