15 silverado 2500 gas motor. 6l90 trans. Looking to go to either 4:56 or 4:88 for towing. Who has done the swap.

Either would do way better than 3.73's or 4.10's but what size tires are you running?

 

That would better help you decide so you can pick what's best for cruising/towing rpm.

Truck is all stock. Tires size is 32.5. Current rear is 4.10.

Truck weighs 7700 lbs, after a lot of reading im now leaning towards 4:88. Think rmp difference from where i am now is 400 rpms

Right now considering my options. I was, but with what the prices are going for i cant afford to do it. They want 55k for a 70k mile truck and want to give me 34k for my 60k mile truck. I have 3 yrs left on payments. Cant afford to do another loan for 6 more years. If i see one at a good price and the numbers work then sure, but for now i have 5 months to keep looking. If i dont find anything then i will do the gear swap.

I hear you . If you did swap to 4.56 , that's not big enough difference than 4.10. Next up is 4.88. How much RPM at 70mph when you're not towing? I'd bet it's around 2500-2600. It sure would help towing your 5er.
BTW that's a killer setup.
She's going to not want to pass a gas station without stopping.

I never run more than 65mph. Gas mileage tanks. Its usually around 2300 i think. When i was towing 14.5k lbs 60mph rpm was around 2200 after reading a lot i might consider 4:88. Very rarely am i on the highway with the truck.
