whenever there is a bit of standing water, I get a loud noise that sounds like it is coming from wheel wells or under the truck like water resistance (even feel it drag a bit). Anyone else? Thoughts?

this is at hwy speed (40-50 in rain)...shocked that no one else has noticed.

Everyone notices it.

Standing water has that effect on every vehicle.  The deeper the water and the faster the vehicle enters it, the more it drags.

Ignoring that effect causes lots of accidents and/or damage.

Avoiding standing water is best.

If it must be travelled thru, slower is better.

Is this thread for real? Its called a heavy amount of water being splashed up into your wheel wells from the tires as you plow through the puddle, every vehicle on earth does this.

thanks for the sarcasm, and the driving lessons. It is more that just standing water I used that as the example as where I first heard the noise. Every time it rains and any level of water is coming off of the wheel onto the wheel wells give off a noise that is beyond reasonable....and I can mimic it with a hose on the wells - and it is the carpet/plastic covers that are installed. I am thinking of trying the husky ones to see if they will deaden it, anyone have experience with it.....as FYI the 2008 I traded in had no noise, but did have much heavier protection in the wheel well

Did you have the same kind of tires?

that is a good question, the ones that came with it are about the same as what I had before - basically road tires.

My 2020 does this when it rains also . Can you test out if your truck for the following settings.

put your truck in 4x2 or 4x4 and see if the sounds comes

then put it back into 4x2 and see the sound is present .

it is a 2 wheel drive...but it comes from all 4 wheel wells, I was able recreate the noise with a hose - I am look at ways of dampening the noise going to try the Husky inserts.
