2019 silverado LTZ,  I have pretty much experienced this since new.  With both my samsung s9 plus and now with my s10 plus 90 percent of the time when I plug my phone cord into android auto it kicks my radio or xm off and android auto pulls up. I have to go back to the home screen and pick what I was listening to again and its only about half volume.  If I unplug the cord and plug it back in the volume comes back up to normal what I have it at volume.  Sometimes it takes 3-8 times unplugging it for it to work right again.  Has anyone else experienced this or know how to fix it or if I am doing something wrong? Dealer has checked for updates and there are none.  I have googled it over and over and can not find anything but one google help forum that someone posted the same problem but no one has responded him either. Thanks for any help.

My 2019 High Country just started something like that. If my radio is on [XM] and I plug my Note20 in [Android 10 UI 2.5, Nov 2020 Sec Update, Sprint] at a certain volume, the volume cuts down a good bit. Unplug the cable and

the volume returns to normal. The phone is also paired to the vehicle at the time this happens. Have not tried another cable,  phone or disconnecting the bluetooth.

Does your AA ever randomly disconnect? My 2020 Sierra Denali does it at least 5-6 times a trip. I also have a Note20.

I did try all that and still does it.

No when I use it most is on 4-6 hour trips. It never disconnects just the volume thing is all it does.

I noticed over the weekend if I go down my notification list on my phone and cancel the notification that says android auto is using gps that the volume comes right back to normal. So it looks like it has to do with it using gps. Has no one else had this issue?

Shot in the dark but did you try to disable  "absolute volume" on the Galaxy? I had some odd issues when playing music with bluetooth. I activated the "disable absolute volume" on the Galaxy (S-8) and it cured my issue. (issues were volume related, changing volume on radio also changed volume on phone) The "absolute volume" toggle is in settings under developer options.

I found it and turned it on and will try it tonight and report back. Thanks for the tip.

Only experienced the volume issue, never disconnecting. As for the volume, make sure you set the volume up on your phone also. If you have the volume set low or off it will affect how it sounds thru connectivity. Have Moto G7 power.

Where are these settings located?

Depending on your Android version, but volume up or down and then the site to expand the volume options. If you don't see it there then hit the gear icon after you hit the arrow.

    • Howdy folks,   Recently I pulled a heated steering wheel and clock spring out of a 2015 Sierra All Terrain (part numbers coming soon - will have to disassemble), and just installed it on my 2016 Sierra WT (as base model as it gets).   On install, I noticed that I’m missing the connector often tucked behind the dash for the heating element.     No problem… or so I thought.   I used an “Add-A-Fuse” at my heated steering wheel fuse location, which has voltage, but no wires. I ran it to the positive of the heated steering wheel (Violet/White), and took black to ground.   Hooked up the battery, turned the truck on - no heated steering wheel. No button backlights. Was pleased to see that my cruise control was working though.   Read a post suggesting reversing polarity, so I gave it a shot. Violet and White to ground, Black to power.    Aha! Heat! But I seemingly can’t turn it off AND still no backlights on any of the buttons.    Checked all fuses, everything is still in good order. I’m stumped.   Does anyone have any insight? If so, please share!
    • I'm about 1800 miles into my last oil change, and yesterday a message appeared saying oil life was at 77%. Not sure why it popped up but I think all of these electronics could be susceptible to solar flares or somesuch. I change my oil right at 3K each time, and that was the first time in 10870 miles that message came up. Strange thing is that it showed on the screen at all since I don't drive with that sort of info displayed on the DIC.

    • Checked the pads today and there's plenty of meat on them. If the message keeps coming up, I'll just answer YES that the pads were replaced and wait for the squeal.
