2017 5.3l bad starter?

Anyone have an issue of not starting. My truck would start one minute then next time just click and not start.  Only have about 70k km on motor truck is very clean and can’t see it being a bad starter.  Has anyone had problems with corrosion on the starter?

Hey Mike, welcome to the forum!

This post probably belongs in the 2014-2019 area, but I'll give my take since I had a 2014:

Are you still on original battery?  These trucks are hard on their batteries and I know when mine finally went out that was the symptom.

I'd load test the battery before anything.  It's cheap / free to take it to a big box auto parts store. 

If battery is good, not a big deal to pull starter and have it tested.  Have you looked at the starter connections?  If you are in Canada...could have enough corrosion down there to be interrupting the starter circuit.

Bad starter.  Or bad battery cables.

 

We do 2-3 starters a month on these.

Yep, my 2018 with 31000 miles had a bad starter.  was on national backorder at that time if that tells you anything
