More aggessive tires- how much worse drive quality

There's not much of a difference as I have a High Country w/ 22's. My Nitto T/G's ride just as well and very minimal noise difference but looked way better and handled the rain and snow way better. I ran 305/45/22 so a little wider but basically the same height.

i dont understand the concern for noise if you wanna run aggressive tires.....if you live in snow its already a noisy ride (turn radio up, lol)....grip and performance is the key when driving in those conditions........and when did noise from offroad tires even become a thing?....remember when peeps ran them becasue of that beautiful hummm they make.....

 

i would actually prefer it over smooth tires even on dry pavement but ive never owned a car really so its all i know......

For ride, pay attention to the specs. Most aggressive tires are E rated where a P or SL or XL rated will ride better...but because they are not as strong. I am happy with the Generals ATX but does have some wine around 35-60 mph which does not bother me. A less aggressive all-terrain tire like the Firestone AT2 with a solid(ish) tread strip and less side tread design will be quieter. Many have a trial period so you can go that route if needed.

It's all in the taste. If I spend 40-50k on a truck I want a smooth quiet ride. I love my Michelin 22 street tires. I don't go offroading, snow or mud riding. Most people get Grapplers because it "looks" agressive.  I know several friends with lifted trucks, aggressive tires with black rattle can looking wheels who've never been off road or have a nick or ding on the truck.  Any reason and that goes for a big majority.  Sound familiar? If you don't care about road noise and like hard agressive tires then maybe a '77 Bronco with Co Op's is an option. It's all good

I run BFG KO2's and they ride great. They are quiet and have a very soft ride quality. Much more traction as well. Whatever qualities the factory tires had I don't miss. And you can't beat the classic aggressive look of the KO2's. I'd never turn back! I like quiet, soft & smooth and these tires cover all those bases. The size I'm running is 305/65/18 with a 4.5" lift.
