Do you have anything I can provide the dealer from GM stating this is what needs to be done? I assume this isn't GM releasing this info.

There is nothing your dealer will be able to do at this point, it is in GM's hands.

2021 3.0 Duramax silverado owner here and the same issue has occurred to me twice under 1200 miles on the truck. I will also be contacting my dealer about this issue.

Yes, I had ran into this you a couple of times. I think in my case it was because I was tapping the starter button and not holding it in for a second. After I started pushing the starter button and holding it for a second or so the problem has not existed since. Hopefully that will be the problem.

A lot of people speculated that it was something to do with brake application while pushing the start button and that has proven to be nothing but pure speculation, the trucks will do the crank/no start with the remotes and you not even being in the vehicle. There’s a fix I’m sure GM just doesn’t have it yet. This problem made the Fast Lane Web forum a few days back so like I said, it’s widespread.

No one does, their engineers need to figure this out.

23000 trouble free miles. Mine is a 2020, it seems that all the people posting on here have 2021's

Correct, I am not sure how GM hasn't figured out what changed between 2020 and 2021 trucks.

There are 2020’s affected but most 2021’s seem to have done it pretty early in ownership

Having the same problem here with my 2021 GMC Sierra with the 3.0L. Mine has only done it once so far and it was right at the 2000 mile mark. I took it to the dealer and they could not get the issue to recreate. They then did the “ECM reprogramming for crank no start or extended crank condition.” Which I think is the Technical Service Bulletin: #20-NA-218 from GM. But this was for the 19&20 model sierras. Nothing mentioned about 21s. So I don’t think this is the fix to the problem we are all having.

I just had the same problem. Only 80 miles on it. And I only put 30. The question we should be asking is why would the trigger Wheel bend? And what is stopping if from happing again? Seeing the amount of work to fix it I'm going to ask them to cover all related items until 45k. (That is when my lease is up lol.)

Based on all the trucks that have been inspected the trigger wheel has not been bent on a single other truck, just on the first one they looked at, it was a fluke that they created. TSB off of. Don’t worry about the trigger wheel on your motor.

Found this looking around this morning.  Anyone had this flash done?  But just noticed that’s from February now that I look at it.  Probably not the fix I guess.

Got my truck back from the dealer; 2nd time for the no starting issue--starter runs for 15-20 seconds, truck does not start.  Dealer checked fuel injector data, fuel pump high and low side PSI while attempting to duplicate.  Checked and re-tightened ground connections @ G130, 131, 132, 133 and 134. Checked fuel PSI regulator for loose pins. Checked fuel injector #1 and cam sensor. OK no problem found.  So, I do not think the service manager was convinced the issue is fixed, time will tell.  But if it goes in for the 3rd time...?  Total days in the shop-19 days; 3 days 1st visit, 16 for the 2nd visit.

Did they perform the inspection on the reluctor wheel per the Bulletin for this problem?

They checked the camshaft sensor signal--said ok, no issue.

I bet it’s a bad ground somewhere.

k2xx had one on the driver side A pillar. A manufacturing flaw caused some trucks to have the plastic trim sandwiched under the ground bolt. Caused some weird ass intermittent problems, like the stabilitrack randomly intervening and jerking the wheel. Also would explain why it hasn’t been found yet.
