I am getting two very different prices on two extremely similar trucks.  I put in an order for an AT4 when everything is added to it msrp is $68,660.  The dealer then gave me some discounts and it is now down to $64,800 before the unknown incentives when it gets here.  The dealer told me that price should be close if not better than the educational discount.  I found out, thanks to you guys, that there is a separate build and price website just for education.  When I built a very similar truck on there the MSRP came out to $67,930 then on the site itself it immediately drops the price to $63,776 and says that it is the GMeducator price.  Then it drops it by another $3,400 for total cash allowances to make the total $60,376!  I know that the cash allowances can change when the truck gets here, the other build site will just give me $2,050 for cash allowances.  The educator build site was different and only let me put a premium package on it, not premium plus, so I had to add everything else one by one.  The only difference in the two trucks is that I couldn't add the power running boards to the educational one online.  Even if I added that later it would just be like another $1,000 (I added $800 running boards to the educational one to try to make the price closer)

cash allowance will be the same foreverybody for the most part so take that out of the equation,  certain sites will add different ones.  But at the end of the day if there at purchase they are there.    The education price most likely is just taking you down to invoice, as I doubt it supplier pricing but could be.   If it is taking you down to invoice I would be fighting for at least another 1000 off.

Hard to say why the differences are between the 2 and what the dealer is doing also. A local dealer is charging $1,000 over MSRP, and other dealers are MSRP or less before talking with them.

I just built my truck that just got made the other day and it is the same price between supplier, educator, first responder and military.

Also built an AT4 on the educator site and it allowed for the premium plus package and the power running boards, wonder why it would allow you to select them.

Thanks!  I tried it again with no luck, but then noticed that it kept switching me to the 2020.  Was able to get it to stay on 2021 and it was only about $400 difference.  Thanks!

I ran through the educator website and called two dealerships with the info. Both said that the HD trucks are flagged on their system as not being eligible for educator discount due to supply constraints. I called a 3rd dealership (in California) that popped up after the educator configuration and they were marking the HDs up $5k over msrp with no educator discount - even though the truck was in stock and listed via the educator website at a far far lower price.

I put a deposit on a Sierra 2500 SLE last week using the educator/supplier discount.   Before that I spoke with 7-8 dealerships throughout the northeast and only 2 were not honoring it. With that said, those were dealership decisions and not GM. I hope my signed work up  and deposit hold up, the truck is due to arrive on Friday.

This is bad dealership business.  When dealerships fail to honor GM incentives typically they are getting greedy.  Most factory rebates, deals etc are reimbursed to that dealer 100%.   Kind of make me laugh with GM employee pricing I get,  dealer acts like they are doing me  a favor.  When in reality GM is getting the sale,  I am getting a discount(which the amount can be debateable) and the dealer in essence is getting full msrp for that vehicle.

By not taking those rebates and charging more they are taking advantage and trying to make more money.  I hope customers remember some of these business' when the smoke clears on all of this.

Yup, well said. I'm gonna quote the movie Super Bad and say, "people don't forget."

I was able to use the supplier discount yesterday. Even though we had agreed to the terms before the truck was delivered, it was still accepted by GM. So unless it is a regional issue, GM isn’t the issue.

It isn’t GM the issue, it is the dealers even though they get reimbursed from GM. My dealer mentioned it was up to the dealers if they wanted to except these discounts from GM.

A local dealer is listing HD’s for $1,000 over sticker and they are moving trucks since demand is high and supply is low.

I was originally getting supplier pricing and ended up getting it at invoice since it saved us some extra and then a few extra dollars from there.

I can tell you all this. Ensure you let the person know you got the code from if they wont take employee or friends and family discount.  Ensure you let GM corporate know when this occurs.

I am really thankful that I saw this post. I am active Air Force and didnt know the military build discount was so great.
I’m on a waitlist to do a custom order and awaiting dealer allocations. Do I get an authorization number now then or wait until they get the allocation?

You wait until it is time for paperwork for the authorization number and thank you for your service

Yes, wait for the actual purchase for the authorization code, but I would tell the dealer I am using the discount and make sure they are honoring it. Agree on the price after military discount but before rebates since those could be different by the time of purchase.
