And not just the early ones? But why didn't anyone in the aftermarket car parts business have developed a better torque converter for the 6L80? The company who did could earn millions of dollars. I don't hear that dodge or ford have such major transmission design flaws. I always been a chevy truck fan but isn't gm making it very hard for us not to buy a different brand of truck? It because many torque converter failures can be caused by excessive friction, which means the torque converter's needle bearings are damaged. Also, a faulty seals or faulty clutch solenoid can be to blame. A faulty seal can allow fluid to leak and become contaminated. A bad torque converter can damage a transmission. secretary of state business name search Edited April 25, 2022 by alexpor
Black02Silverado Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Yes, this is an older thread. I've been researching and calling places like Circle D, Pro Torque, PATC and Florida Torque Converter. They all highly recommend getting a billet built converter, having the transmission tuned so that it locks up in 5th not 2nd and reducing the lock up pressure along with disabling AFM. Florida Torque converter has a lifetime guarantee on their converters and have them in stock and seemed to be the most reasonable in price. The gentleman I spoke with was very nice and knowledgeable and spent time to answer my questions. The others did as well but I just felt FTC is more on the lines of helping the average individual with stock vehicle needs and not in the racing hard core builds that the others cater to. 2

The hard part of most modifications that require third party help is convincing that guy you need what you want and not what everyone else wants. You're doing well on this.... Keep it up.
