Successfully added cooled seats to truck today thanks to White Automotive Media Services WAMS custom BCM programming.

https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/product/t1-pickup-wams-spec-bcm-programming/

First I swapped my heated seats out with vented seats from an LTZ.  I also gained power passenger seat,  memory seats/mirrors and power fold mirrors (controlled by MSM in seat) see my other posts about this.

You dont have to do all the memory stuff everything still works if you only want to swap to get cooled seats.

You will need a new HVAC control switch that has cooled switches- 84692240.

You will need programming.

I purchased autosync device from WAMS.  Autosync is awesome so many things to customize and new features are frequently added.  One time purschase but you continue to have new features added.  WAMS takes very good care of customers.  WAMS added heated rear seat programming to autosync at my request!

I loaded new files to autosync and programmed truck within 5 minutes I had OEM cooled seats and they feel great.  All my wiring for seats were already present in my RST.

Add heated rear seats too.  See other post on that.

Thank you Chris from WAMS!!!!

I have an LTZ but needed the bench seat in the front. This combination would not allow me to order the truck with ventilated seats.  Is there a way to determine if all the hardware is there and just needs to be programmed? Also, did you get the flash tool or send in your BCM?

Can I ask how much this cost (seats, controls and WAMS services)?  There are only 2 things I wish my 2020 LT Trail Boss had.  Power folding towing mirrors and cooled seats.  Neither are options available on an LT.

Do you have vent holes in your seat cushion? look underneath for a vent motor or feel back of seat for vent motor bulge behind leather.  Check your harness underneath your seat to see if you have all the pins.  I had all the pins in my body harness so i figured all the wiring was there just needed to install LTZ seats.

$1000 for seats,  $120 for switch,  $400 for autosync.  Sold my seats for $600 and I use autosync for other things.  The seats allowed me to install power fold mirrors and have memory seats (memory control module is built into driver seat it controls folding)  The mirrors allowed me to upgrade to 360 view.  They all tie together.

I did 360 view 1st,  figured now I have mirrors that can fold I am going to try to get that to work.  Bought seats and got fold/memory to work.  Did the OEM wireless charger built into console when I bought the oem console harness I bought the one that supported heated rear seat.  Autosync allowed me to activate the cooled seats and heated rear seats works perfectly just like from factory.

Kick ass!  My AutoSync is set to be here on Thursday.  Wish I had the coin for cooled seats but not in the cards right now

Where can you buy just the seats?  Wonder if I can even add em with just an lt optioned truck.   I almost bought a used ltz for the seats alone... heated seats where I live is absolutely worthless!!

Nordstrums in SD is where I got mine.  Frieght to PA.  Check your harness under your driver seat check and see if you have the pins for cooled seats. I put pin out is in this post.  You will gain power adjust passenger seat too.

I just took delivery of 2022 LT Trail Boss.  This is exactly my sentiment- I'd try anything to upgrade to power folding mirrors and ventilated seats.  Any help is appreciated.

Do you know if this same BCM programming would work for a 2020 custom retrofitting 2021 high country seats?

I got seats and bought wiring harnesses/memory bypass harness for them but was told by the guy who makes the harnesses that even if I got the thermostat controls that I couldn’t get Heat/cool to work because nobody had figured out the BCM.

beyond my understanding. To me if you get them power and get an on off button they should work but apparently not.

    • I was around and remember that era very well, so I'm calling b/s on that statement. If they were that bad no police department or taxi company would've bought a single one ... but they were used in both services (and fire) for DECADES. They were bulletproof and proven. Even the early 21st century ones weren't too bad! The early models were legendary.   Mine is proof, but people like atlas are blinded by agenda and refuse to believe facts right before their very eyes.   Even decades after they were built, a new generation started driving them, posting all their builds and shenanigans on Grandmarq.net and Crownvic.net. The failures would show up then, since they all were deep past 100k-150k miles by that point, and younger drivers tend to be a little aggressive, especially with vehicles than can lay a one-tire fire for as long as you hold your foot in it. They've more than proven themselves over the decades.   The only thing that'll really take them out is road salt. The bodies and sheet metal were garbage. A victim of the cheapout FoMoCo and GM have been partaking in before then, and since.   Today it's the stuff that counts - the undercarriage that rots away first!    GMs Caprice was no slouch either. Reliable as a stone ax - the opposite of what they build now.
    • Let me know how your vehicles do in 10 years. You don't know ******, kid. 😂    There's a reason that Panther platform was used as police, fire, and taxi service for DECADES ... long before you were born, apparently.
    • If your connector also has a big lever to get the connector on and off, you don't want to force the lever either way, as it becomes a bigger problem if you bust the lever or the mechanism it works.
    • It's just useful to disconnect the battery to prevent odd shorting out when unplugging/plugging stuff together.  I also  touch the two cable ends together (after disonnecting) to drain the small amount of stored battery energy in various modules.   I believe the main system where you need to be more concerned with, so you need to do the above and then wait some time, iss when you are working on the air bag system, to prevent inadvertent firing of the air bags.   The in-cab switches are just that, plain switches, it's generally not a problem to swap them in/out.  For my '12, I'll get an error message on the dash if I power up the truck w them unplugged, but that's it (power up= turn the ignition on).   The ITBC located above the spare tire is a computer that manages the trailer brake system.  That is probably more important to have the battery disconnected.  It does have to be programmed to the truck, either before or after it's installed, for it to work.  For my '12, I had a very hard time reinstalling the main connector to it (IDK if yours is the same or not), it turned out the silicon seal was jamming up, preventing it from going on all the way.  I finally got it fully installed by lubing the seal with a bit of dielectric grease, then it slid on and latched in place easily.
    • JR ! I just got the truck back from the Dealership today . The technician did a cold remote start on the truck this morning and it made the noise . It was determined that it was a starter issue and replaced it under warranty . Of course   it did not make the sound after a new starter was put in because the truck was not cold . We will we see what happens tomorrow morning when I start the truck cold  . Keep tuned !   Oh I found a video on YouTube of a cold start and it did the same thing your truck and mine do , I will see if I can find it and post it up
