I hope that I am putting this in the correct forum. 

 

I have a 2021 GMC Sierra Elevation 4X4 with the 3.0L Duramax. I bought the OBDLink MX+ so that I could pair it with my phone and be able to use the app to monitor certain things as I drive. Either I don't know what I'm doing (most likely) or the OBDLink isn't reading certain things correctly. 

 

I would like to be able to see how long it will be until my truck goes into a regen cycle. I'm not really sure if the OBDLink can tell me this. If it can, I don't know what the exact setting (I think they are called PIDs) is called. 

 

The temp gauge reads about 25° hotter than the truck's gauge does.

 

The torque gauge usually reads at <100 ft. lbs. This obviously doesn't seem correct. 

 

The horsepower gauge reads at <50 horsepower at all times. Again, doesn't seem to be correct. 


Obviously, I'm doing something wrong. I don't know if I have chosen the wrong setting, or what. I didn't have any issues at all with setting up the device or pairing it with my phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

      So i recently lifted my 2006 silverado 1500. it’s a 5.3 regular cab short bed 4x4 with the basic interior (rubber floors, floor shifter). I recently lifted the truck on 35’s and tried to tune the truck so my speedometer was accurate. I have a flashpaq 2865. it works fine on my dads truck, a 2008 gmc sierra denali, and turns on as soon as i plug it in. the tuning functions work as it should. i plugged it into my silverado, and it wouldn’t even turn on. i can’t find anything on youtube or google about this, and my code reader works fine and turns on without any problems. i just can’t seem to get power to the flashpaq. anyone else having similar issues?

      Found that my OBD isn't working today while trying to get my truck inspected. Did the research and found that the answer is probably the fuse. It looks like it's blown, and I will replace and take back to the inspector to see if it's now working. HOWEVER, the mechanic insisted that Chevrolet BY LAW has to fix the OBD when it's not working at no charge. I can't find anything online to support this. Does anyone know anything about this??

      My truck won't pass emissions. It shows "not ready" for the Evap system, catalyst, and an o2 sensor. I drove it for about 500 miles between tests. I got looking at the vehicles history and it looks like the "not ready" issue has been ongoing for this truck? Any ideas?

      I need some help with my 2001 5.3l Silverado. I need to smog test my truck but in Caliornia all monitors must be ready to pass. The only monitor that has not completed is the secondary air injection. The truck is not throwing any codes and there are no drivability issues. I've complete every drive cycle I can find numerous times, including the generic GM drive cycle, none have enabled the secondary air injection monitor. I've driven the truck for at least 2 months and put on 1000+ miles since changing the battery which caused my monitors to reset. Each morning I complete a cold start idle for 2.5 minutes hoping the secondary air will run. Below is a list of items I've inspected or changed in an effort to fix my problem.
       
      Secondary air pump-I tested its operation at startup. The pump enables at startup and pumps air at an acceptable volume. There are no signs of wear or issues with the pump.
       
      Secondary air valve- I tested operation at startup The valve opens and allows air to flow from the pump to the exhaust. There are no signs of wear and all vacuum line were inspected for leaks.
       
      Secondary air check valves- Both valves were inspected and replaced due to carbon buildup. Neither were clogged but I still replaced.
       
      O2 sensors- I replaced both pre cat O2 sensors because both had 100,000+ miles. The O2 sensors have been monitored using a scan tool and no signs of issue have been noted.
       
      I've monitored both pre cat O2 sensors during startup and I can see when the secondary air pump is enabled. Both sensors go lean until the pump is deactivated and closed loop is achieved.
       
      I've monitored engine coolant temp, intake air temp and ambient air temp with my scan tool to ensure all sensors are allowing for a cold start.
       
      Again the truck runs great and has no pending or stored codes. It just will not run the secondary air injection test. I'm no slouch when it comes to wrenching on cars but this one has me stumped! What would be my next option? Does anyone know what sensors are monitored to enable the secondary air injection monitor?
