I have a 2019 Silverado LT Z71.  I bought it brand new and never liked the “boatiness” of the front and bunny hop in the rear.

My question is, do I upgrade the front first or rear.  I can only get one end done.

I was thinking start with the rear since I won’t need an alignment then eventually do the front.

BUT if the front is recommended before rear, I can do that.

I’ll be going with Bilstein 5100 shocks.

I would do the front first, that is where I saw the most noticeable changes in ride characteristics.  If your major issue is the pontooning effect, which mine was, the only way to cure that is with the front shocks and by doing so you will enjoy the ride MUCH better.  Get a lifetime alignment from Firestone for $100-$200 and call it a day.

Bilstein shocks in the rear take care of the jittery nature over rail road tracks and dirt roads, but that didn't bother me so much since that comprised of maybe 1% of my driving habits.

I cant directly describe what should happen with the install of the Bilstein shocks since I have the Eibach system on mine, but from all accounts they are similar in felt benefits so I would assume the Bilstein front and rears would be a great addition.

Also, if you can only get one end done then I assume there is a financial limiter (I apologize if there isnt, we've all been there before :) ) and the rear are MUCH cheaper to install if you are planning to pay somebody to do the work.  If you chose to do it yourself and save a few bucks, you could do the rear in your driveway in about 10 minutes, its just 4 bolts.  The front can be done at a leisurely pace in the timespan of an afternoon if you have the correct tools.  Good Luck!

I just put some Bilstein 6112s on the front and it feels much better. Braking and turning are much improved with less nose diving and lean. I have some 5100s coming for the rear but the front was very noticeable for me.
