Not quite.  The current wheel doesn't have the audio controls on the right side of wheel.  Both of the wheels I ordered from eBay have audio controls.  What is unclear to me is how one determines whether a wheel (and the resultant controls) will work when installed with a WAMs cluster upgrade, the Harness Dr. Lin bus cable, etc.  Most of the available resources (here, YouTube, etc) show steering wheels with heated option but do not have the FCA button.   The 2 wheels I ordered have that.

I'm also not clear on Global A vs. Global B as it relates to this process.

Thanks for the feedback and commentary.

Do you have a 2022 "LTD" so looks like a 2021?  Or a 2022 "refresh" so looks like a 2023?

Bump for a 22 Chevy Trail Boss Custom update.  My truck has the FCA (Forward Collision Alert) distance button on the cruise control cluster.  I have the Dr. Harness ordered.  I will order the Instrument Cluster this week.  My question is which model steering wheel to try to locate that will allow the FCA to work?

If you have FCA it's HIGHLY likely you have a refresh. Please check the instructions in the FAQ to determine by VIN just in case. Refresh is Global B architecture prior is Global A; they are not interchangeable in any way including the steering wheels unfortunately :(

UNTRUE. The $390 Safety Collision package included the FCA. However, on my 21 when I ordered it, it included the upgraded color 4.2" DIC and steering wheel audio controls.

Well considering on 2022.1 the rate of GF2 Silverados with FCA is 5% meaning 95% don't have it where as 100% of refresh trucks do have it I'd say thats pretty true.

FCA was actually supposed to be standard on all Silverados in 2021 according to GM literature, but for some reason it never happened.

COVID happened :( Took until 2022.5 and an entire bus/architecture change with different chipsets to make it happen.

It had NOTHING to do with the bus/architecture. FCA already existed in the trucks as an option with Global A.

Yes it did with a completely different set of hardware and transceiver specs etc. The major issue was lack of single wire CAN (LSCAN) transceivers for the camera. The switch to Global B and dual wire CAN and more plentiful transceivers on the market as most other manufacturers were using dual wire CAN made this doable.

While I appreciate the renewed interest in the thread (and the ensuing urinating match thaT followed), I am no closer to having a solution. I emailed WAMs over the weekend and received no reply. This, of course, is expected with the holiday weekend. I have run my VIN through their checker and still am left with doubt as to the actual configuration of my 22 Custom Trail Boss.  I went ahead and paid the $800 for what I believed to be the correct cluster. Today, I received a reply to my order (not the initial emailed set of questions - prepurchase) stating that my VIN is Refresh  /Global B.  The email goes on to request I supply a VIN for a non-refresh truck so that they can ship me the wrong cluster, which on its face is totally absurd.  If the cluster I ordered isn't correct, them please suggest a solution rather than this ridiculous request for VIN that I cannot supply.  At this rate, I guess, I'll eat the the restocking fee and forget about the upgrade for my son's truck.   You can't get anyone on the phone.  Some of us don't have the luxury of time to email intermittently all day long.  Lesson learned.

Chris, Thank you for the reply. I entered the VIN as suggested. I do not see where it clarifies the question of Global A vs Global B.  Pardon my ignorance on auto electronics.

You’re welcome but I was referring to the product description and faq of the item you ordered that has detailed instructions on how to tell if you have a refresh truck using the vin. As far as your other reply goes given you signed off not only did you not have a refresh truck under the item itself but also that you read and understood the entire description and faq at checkout we assumed you made a typo in the vin hence the note on your account requesting the proper vin (it happens occasionally). No one was going to send the wrong cluster but again based on the amount of checks we provide for that item figured it was just a typo.

So this is what you ordered https://www.whiteautoandmedia.com/product/denali-high-country-cluster-upgrade-t1/

“Q: Will this work in my new 2022.5+ 1500 or 2024+ 2500/3500 “Refresh” truck?
A: No this product is specifically for the 2019-2022 T1 trucks ONLY. If you have a 2022.5+ this is not the product for that application. If you have a 2022 and aren’t sure if you have a 2022.5 you can verify you verify by simply checking your RPO’s for “J22” or even easier if the last 8 of your vin starts with “NG5” or “NZ5” or higher for example “NG6” or “NZ6” and so on if you meet any of those requirements its a 2022.5 and not compatible. While there are some lower trim level 2022.5 Trucks that appear to have the previous generation interior/electronics this is not the case as everything electrical subsystem wise is completely different and not compatible. This also WILL NOT work on 2023+ 1500 or 2024+ 2500/3500 trucks as mentioned previously in the description. The product for the refresh trucks can be found by clicking HERE.”

This is what you actually need

That VIN isn't valid.  If I plug the last 8 into GM land its doesn't exist.  NG696353 doesn't work at all.  If I switch the first 6 for a 5, NG596353 works and pulls a Custom Trail Boss and is a 2022.5 refresh, not a 2022 LTD old style so its a Global B truck.
