Only if you allow yourself to be "Played". Anytime a dealer "Suggests" something, listen to what they say and make an informed decision after only after learning about the issue and don't make a spur of the moment decision. Difficult to do sometimes, I know!!

Yeah, I don’t really see how this would be an issue.  If it’s a free oil change, I’d presume you’re still under the warranty period.  How much are they going to be able to sell someone during the warranty period.  I’ve had free oil changes on several cars (bought and leased) all under the warranty period and I’ve never had them try to sell me anything.

My dad had free oil changes for life when he bought his 1989 GMC S15.  He took it in every 3k miles to have it changed.  That dealership didn't make any money off him in the 12yrs/110k miles he owned it.

They made enough the day he bough it. 😉

Damn!  I had a 1989 GMC S-15 that I had for 12 years.  It had 111,000 miles on it when I sold it in 2001.  Replaced it with a 2001 GMC Sierra that I sold in 2015.

Dad's S-15 had the 4.3 in it.  Had to be careful because if you gave it to much gas it would spin the back tires. Especially on the hot smooth Orlando roads. Oh and if it was wet, fun, fun.  It also had a vibration, which from my research was part of the way that year 4.3 was balanced.

Mine also had the 4.3.  But I don't remember any real vibration problems.  Good little truck.  Only failed me once when the coil pack went bad.  Mine was a two-tone blue over silver color with blue interior.

Only issue my dad had was the front seal on the transmission started to leak. So he had to get that fixed.  Oh and living in Florida the AC went out so he had to get a new compressor.  His was just plain red and it started to fade bad from the sun.
