are you going to sell the Camaro? OR are you gonna go for one of those car+ car = 1000HP+ plus driveways :P

Our last neighbor's has a 1969 Stingray convertible with 400HP 383, and a 1970 Z28 with 500HP 400 in his. He had a 120 NOS set up on the Z28, that put him over

Keep them both.

The Camaro is paid off. If I were still paying for it, the option to sell it may have presented itself.

I'm shooting for the 1,000 REAR WHEEL horsepower club. The Camaro is at 403 (and I may do a slightly more aggressive cam in that) and with what I'm planning for the GTO, I'm looking at 500+ at the rear wheels. So that would put me in the 900-1,000 rwhp arena.

You know what's gonna happen

CMNT any idea when the gto is coming in? Me and a buddy are going to go test drive one once they get in (his friend works/owns a local dealership). He just bought an 02? (whatever the last yr of them were) trams am WS6 with only like 5K miles. He couldnt hold out for a gto hehe

I know that dilema already! Especially in the summer cause remember, I have a Harley too!

I know at first I'll probably drive the wheels off of it to get 500-1,000 mile on it to break it in, then let the sh*t start flying.

My TPW (Target Production Week) is 3/8/04. Providing that actually sticks, look for me to get it 60-90 days after that. It's gotta take the slow boat from down under, then be insepcted, have it's rear spoiler attached, then rail transported to Kansas City, from KC, it'll get trucked to the dealer I bought it from in Texas, then CMNT will go pick it up and pull it back home.

So look to late May, early June.

On Feb 2 2004 Gran Turismo 4 comes out. The full car list hasn't been re;eased yet, only about 10% of it. But I'm watching, and if a 04 GTO shows up, you might getr an early shot at it. heh

FOr those who don't know:

Gran Turismo isn't called "The Real Driving Simulator" for nothing. It's based on real cars, real physics, real specification and everything. One day I even got bored and check manufacturer's claimed 0-60 times compared to GT4's and they were usualy around a tenth of a second off, which is pretty much dead on. I even read an article where a car magazine to a NSX to Laguna Seca Raceway, and then repeated it on the game and they said it was almost dead on in how the real and game car reacted to the track. And BTW, GT4 is expected to set the graphics benchmark until the next systems arrive. That's right, the PS2 will have sole rights to the best graphical game on a 128 bit system. Take THAT  Microsoft!

CMNT loves the Gran Turismo games. Albeit I've only played them on other peoples machines.

CMNT himself isn't really up on the latest consoles. He has a PS1 that was bought when they first came out and MAYBE played an hour total at all in the 5 or 6 years since.

I'm too busy working on cars and sh*t to play.

GT4 was pushed back to late spring/early summer, due to complications on getting all of the cars copied and programmed into the game. I've been keeping track of this game for the last 4 months. I can't wait for it to come out.

I saw you on the LSTGTO site. Been looking for something for my wife.....thought she has the 98 C5. Kinda torn.....waiting for the GTO and the new C6......where is a good place to find great info on the new GTO?

Right where you were...LS1GTO.com

Other GTO sites;

-UltimateGTO.com

Newage is ok, but They don't have a tracker and a lot of internally accessible people like LS1GTO. Ultimate GTO, the owner/admin of that site who once badmouthed the new GTO somehow seems to have all these spy shots and shiznit and now has done an about on them it seems.

What would you like to know about it? It is a awesome car with fit/finish and build quality that are second to none and certainly out of step with standard GM standards. I'd bet it'll give the Vette a run for the money in this category too! Plus you can carry 4 adults in comfort. Something the Vette can't do.

something just hit me, suprised I didn't see it coming earlier:

M3 vs. GTO.

Just about as close and far apart as you can get at the same time. That would make a perfect comparo article. Of course, in terms of price, GTO will the doors off the M3. It's been out for over 3 years and dealer's are STILL marking it up because the demand STILL hasn't been met. Although this might happen to the GTO too, considering it's limited numbers.......

Posted

We've been eagerly awaiting something like that!

It'd be nice to see the GTO put a few marks in BMW's superiority complex.

One guy who had/drove BMW's and other foreign stuff who now has a GTO made a comment that while they were all nice in their own way, the one thing they all lacked was the "Explosive" engine of the GTO! The M3 makes great power but it isn't as robust anywhere on the tach, flexible, and have the grunt like power of the LS1.

Although the M3 is still quicker 1/4 mile wise (Doesn't it turn high 12's?). The GTO is doing mid 13's.

    • Hey everyone,   For anyone looking at roof-mounted lighting for the Hummer EV, we wanted to share our M&R Automotive 50" PRO Roof Light Bar for the 2022+ GMC Hummer EV.   The curved 50" bar sits close to the windshield rather than sticking way up above the roofline. The mounting position is designed to keep the setup relatively streamlined while minimizing wind noise and maintaining full use of the factory windshield wipers.   A few details:   50" curved PRO light bar Fits 2022–2026 GMC Hummer EV Spot + driving beam pattern TIR optics White main beam Amber DRL backglow Approximately 15,410 measured lumens through the lens Mounts to factory accessory locations No cutting or drilling required Wiring runs down the A-pillar toward the AUX connections Designed to minimize wind noise Lifetime warranty Off-road use only     The 50" is an interesting middle ground for anyone who wants the visibility and mounting position of a roof bar without stepping all the way up to the larger 60" setup. For the Hummer EV owners here, would you go with the 50" for the lower-profile look or step up to the full 60"?
    • My son got a hatchback withe the aero package for like 17k new. Great little car with amazing MPH
    • Yeah, I've given up years ago with that! I was able to load a few when I first joined the site sometime around '07. Then after maybe 20 pics, it said I exceeded the limit. Now every pic I try to post says I've "exceeded 1mb".   ONE MB??? That's Windows 95 ******, lol!!
    • I get the same results with pictures. Then I figure it out. Then I forget. Screw it.
    • I guess I'm the only one on this forum who can't get effing pics to load here! Do you have to resize them to post, or am I just blocked from uploads?   I have the same luck with automotive electronics ... but this is the ONLY site on the net that I have this problem!   I'd post pics of what I'm working on ... but I CAN'T! 🤬       Just fabbed up the kickdown cable (had to extend the cable mount WAAAY out from the throttle shaft to get a full pull), and parts arrived for the fuel lines on the 940 carb conversion project. Should be able to drive this thing by the end of the day. If not for work, I'd have had this thing done SIX weeks ago.   Got the jetting sorted out last week. Had a real bad tip-in bog that I couldn't seem to correct. Friggin float height was over 11mm too HIGH! eBay purchase, so no wonder everything is screwed up right out of the box! I ended up with a larger dual-squirt accelerator pump jet anyway instead of the single. Also moved the 70 primary idle jet (4 sizes too big out of the box) to the secondary idle circuit, and installed a 57 in the primary. Runs great on the fuel bottle!    Still using the computer for ignition. Going to drive it first and see if I want to go through the project of installing an intermediate shaft with a distributor drive gear, so I can install a block-mounted distributor and run points, 100% computer free. I should do that anyway just from a simplicity / reliability / tunability standpoint. The electronics left me stranded last year a couple times! I can't tweak the timing to my liking right now because of the computer. Tried twisting the cam-driven distributor already ... and the damned thing just reverts back to where it was! That's infuriating. But if it runs well enough I might save that for next season.   Just driving it in and out of the shop to work on other projects, it feels 1,000% more responsive with the carburetor. Also fires MUCH faster when cranking. Can't wait to drive it and see if I got more than 114 ponies, lolol.   Hopefully these don't go 404 like the last post ... https://postimg.cc/gallery/MjhrmZS   Seems like that site went back to dial-up internet! Maybe they'll fix that some day ...
