I am getting the same thing on my 26. My 24 worked flawlessly with the same phone. It says it is connected on the screen, but it acts like the phone is not connected. Randomly it will turn on if I mess with it enough or turn off and restart the truck. There is a post a couple of pages back that people are having the same problem.....with no solution. Doesn't matter if the phone is deleted or re-paired to the radio, people are still having problems. It must be an update on GMC side as my AA is up to date and works fine in my wife's car. Not sure what to do.
This may or may not be helpful but maybe they won't have to tear apart the dash:

From what I understand, a code will not set for knock on an OBDI system. It will set a code for circuit failure (unplugged?) but not that knock is detected. Will test as soon as I have the intake put back together.
That IS the test to rule out the knocking exhaust, but, the spider injector is somewhere orbiting inside the USPS network on the way to being rebuilt. I won't be starting the truck anytime soon 😉
It's pulling timing under load/driving as well, but it's much more variable.
