i just take my first heavy duty silverado and i have felt like i need to push a little more than i considered normal (my previous vehicle was a ranger) my accelerator pedal, and i feel like i can feel a little occasionally when shifting gears … Is that normal ??  I appreciate any contribution from old HD owners, it is my first HD truck maybe it is normal to feel the gear changes and I have to put my foot harder on the pedal to see it advance 😂, but I appreciate your help to remove my doubt

This is only about double the weight of a ford ranger, so it will take more to make it move.

Feeling the shifts on the 6 speeds is in my opinion normal, it's not a glass smooth transmission.

It also has a drive-by-wire throttle, and the mapping between pedal position and throttle body response will be completely different between the two vehicles.

If you want it to feel sportier use the tow/haul button and if you want to be able to spin the tires turn off the traction control.  It will feel quite different, but remember you're moving twice the weight of your previous Ranger.
