I have a 2010 GMC Sierra Denali with the stock 20" wheels and stock 275/55-20 tires.  No lift on the truck, all stock suspension.

I like the newer GMC wheels, I was thinking of trying to find a set of new take-offs.  Will the newer 22" wheels and the 275/50-22 tires fit on my truck?  Anyone do this swap?  Pros and cons?

A quick tire size comparison says the 22's are just under 1" taller.  Would the speedo be off or would the computer adjust automatically?

Tire Size Comparison

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
275/55-20 6.0in 16.0in 31.9in 100.2in 632 0.0%
275/50-22 5.4in 16.4in 32.8in 103.1in 614 2.9%

Yes, you could if you wanted too.

The speedo will be off, the computer does not auto adjust for anything. It's programmed for one specific tire size and would have to be changed in the computer for it to read correctly again. If you are okay with the little bit it's off, then that is the way it will be.

If you want the speedo to be nearly exact, then you need to run 285/45/22's. That was the stock size for those year trucks and the Escalade up to 2014.

If you want some pro's and con's. Maybe they look better and that sort of thing and the downside is more weight. More rolling mass and possible faster wear on suspension parts but that comes with the territory.

Thanks for the info, that's what I was looking for.

Another downside is the cost of 22” tires!  Looked at some 22” wheels myself, but no thanks on the tire prices!

Don't forget the curb rash and loss of off-road utility and some say, towing.

definatly curb rashed my OEM 20" rims all the time , anything over 18" rims sucks IMO. I'm now running 2021 17" alloy rims and love those more than my 18" z71 rims. tires have more crush zone for offroad trails, ride is yatch like smoooth.
