RetraxOne - found storage “bins” that just barely fit under canister!

I really wanted some type of storage that would fit under the RetraxOne canister for a tow strap and turn buckles, bottle/hydraulic jack, ratchet straps, etc., so I took measurements and started searching...

 

I found these - https://www.dewalt.com/products/storage-and-gear/tool-storage/toughsystem-tote/dwst08205 .  Two will fit percfectly side by side, under the canister!  Its a tight fit, which is good!  And also easy to place a strap across the front!

 

I’m a Milwaukee tools guy, so had to peel the DeWalt stickers off the front!

Securing those wouldn't be difficult at all.  Just run a strap from the tie downs in the back.

Thats exactly what i did.  The only “issue” is the drain tubes running down to the bed holes... those bed holes get covered by these bins if you use 2 like me and push ‘em all the way back.  I used a piece of 2x6 behind ‘em to keep ‘em pushed out beyond those holes, then I put a strap across the front of ‘em.  But honestly, they are very unlikely to move around because they are a slightly tight fit under the canister.  I will probably drill some holes in the bed further out for the canister drain lines, but wasn’t eager to do that immediately ‘til I thought it through a bit more.

I got nylon barbs that for the bed drain holes.  Had a helper push them up from under the bed so I could slip the drain tube over the nipple and secure with hose clamps.  I couldn't get the tubes into the drain holes.  I haven't done the storage bins, but have no trouble with the barbs breaking with the gear I do keep in my truck.  I use the space under the canister nonstop.
