I have a 2009 Sierra 4x4 5.3l crew cab 6 speed.  I just completed an AFM/DOD lifter, cam, vlom, delete.  All of the electrical components worked before we started but now I have no turn signals, hazards, bright headlights, fog lights, or headlight controls from the knob on the dash.  There are no codes or warning lights indicating a problem on the dash.  A friend was able to connect his diagnostic tool to the truck and force all of those things to work from the tool, but none of it functions from the controls in the truck.  Any ideas?  I am not very good with electrical diagnostics and I miss having my truck tremendously.=-)

If you did the delete, I assume that your either using an OBD2 AFM disabler, or you had the ECU re-programmed. Perhaps one of those two items is causing the problem, since it seems to be computer related - and because the problems started right after the delete. I just did a delete on mine, but I did not replace the cam or any of the oil pump stuff. I used an OBD2 plug in, and blocked the oil passage that supplies oil to the AFM lifter solenoids, and then cut those gaskets under the valley cover. This was all I needed to do on mine (after replacing the AFM lifter on #7 that had collapsed).

Yeah, my #4 lifter took out a cam lobe so I had to replace it all.  I am using a Diablo Sport Predator II to tune out the AFM.  I left it with a stock tune with AFM disable.  I would assume that it should be ok?  Is it safe to run in park if I put the stock tune back fully and start it?  I fear that without the VLOM plugged in that may cause a whole other set of problems.

Its my understanding that without the VLOM plugged in, the computer will disable those 4 AFM cylinders. Anyway, you don't really need to run the engine to test that electrical stuff. First I would unplug the battery for 30 minutes with the ignition on. That should "reset" the computer. If that didn't fix it, I would program the computer back to OEM, and then turn the ignition on (without starting) to see if your electrical stuff works properly. If so, then you pinpointed the problem as a computer programming error of some sort.

Start checking anything electrical you unplugged.  Battery, grounds and ground straps like the one at the back of the driver's head.

Sounds like something isn't connected somewhere to lose all your lights like that.

Thank you guys.  I planned on checking grounds tonight when I get out of work.  I’ll post an update after I check them out!

So, went through the grounds that I could find including the two on the frame down the drivers side of the truck.  No dice.🤦🏼‍♂️

Your buddies diagnostic tool should be able to read BCM codes if it can turn lights on and off.  You need those codes so you know where to look.  Every man ought to have a Tech-2 to work on these things quickly and efficiently.
