2014 to 2015 my link question

Hi there.  Thinking of purchasing a 2014 that still has the older my link interface.  I’ve seen some 2014s that have the same display look of the 2015s.  Does the dealership update them? Is it done by usb?  Here’s pics of 2014 and 2015 to see what I mean

Have never seen that top one. I had a 2014 Silverado built Aug. of '13 and it looked like the bottom pic. My '15 also looked like the bottom pic. The '14s had changeable IP display but I don't think it changed the radio display. Maybe it did and I just don't remember. Anyway, that top pic looks aftermarket to me. The dealer cannot change the display.

Yeah for some reason all the 14s I’ve seen for sale recently have the top style display. Very odd

Yet another 2014 I’ve found that has the older looking my link.  Strange.  Would love to figure out if maybe these weren’t just updated?  Not sure if they can check for updates over WiFi like the 15-18 can.

On my 2016, there is no wifi update provision. AFAIK, any updates have to be done through the USB port and only the dealer has access any update files. WAMS will probably be the go to place and it will probably require hardware updates. You need to reach out to them because they would be the experts in this case...

You could change the theme in the 14's on the MyLink, and the DIC screen. You could also "rewind" live radio.
