I have a 2003 chevy 2500hd with 6.0 gas engine. Can i swap the drivetrain from a 2014 2500hd into my truck? i wonder if its plug and play, or do i need to change some components? Thanks for your time.....

Could you, sure.

Should you, no.

Completely different generations of trucks, nothing is plug and play. If you used your 2003 truck as a shell and swapped the engine/transmission, every single wiring harness, ABS system, air bags, dash/interior etc etc etc over, then yeah it would function like a 2014 truck in a 2003 truck body.

Why do you want to do this? I see the advantages of the gmt900 over the gmt800, but it's not at all practical.

See CamGTPs response.

For example: If you have a wrecked 2014 with a good drivetrain, get another GMT900 with a bad drivetrain and put the two together.

my 2003 is in bad shape frame wise, i have access to a 2014 that was hit by a tree, crushed that cab and bed. i was wondering if i could swap over.

Finding a cab and bed would be easier to fix that 2014.

Doing the swap with the older truck is just not practical.

2014 has a totaled title, My truck is used mainly for plowing and hence why the frame is so bad. I just have a hard time paying property taxes on a 2014 plow truck for winter beating. I just thought i would swap over my 2003 shell and flat bed. I was not sure how or if i could plug my harness into the drivetrain.
