A lot of us 3.0 Duramax diesel owners between 2020 and 2022 have issues occasionally where the starter will turn over for 8-10 secs but won't start. Sometimes it happens once a week or could be several months between issues. Sometimes it starts on 2nd or 3rd try or sometimes could be an hour. Some have had to have it towed. Just wondering if this issue has ever happened to any of you gas truck owners?

The video shows a check eng light, but 90% of the time it doesn't and never throws a code.

Ive seen that happen a lot to the 3.0 diesels.  Havent seen it happen to the gassers, ever.  I think its a design flaw in the 3.0 diesel and its a lemon of an engine personally.

Mine is currently having some issues but I wouldn’t blame the engine. Seems to be an ECM/electrical issue. The engine landed on Wards top 10 list.

IDK if I would call this engine a lemon??  Please explain.  I have read many articles praising it for fuel economy, smoothness, quietness, and reliability. Yes, it hasn't been out that long, but I haven't read much on them having real issues. I'd like to hear what some owners on this forum think. Their experiences.

When I test drove one, I was greatly surprised on acceleration, combo of engine and transmission shifting, along with how quiet it was!! A little to quiet for me. I love the sound of my 6.2L

I shouldn't have said the engine itself is a lemon.  I meant to say that the design around it is a lemon design. Not the engine design itself, just the components around it and those that dictate how it operates electrically.  If emissions did not exist, diesels would be the greatest creation to exist. With emissions existing, i prefer gas engines.  If you were able to get dpf delete kits still in 2022, diesel would continue to be my go to. Thanks to biden and the epa, diesels are now a hard pass for me.
