I had to have the dealership do a repair on my drivers side door handle. When I got it back I think I noticed a few odd things. Does your Silverado 8” screen turn on when you open the door?  I think mine did but I can’t remember. 
 

also, when the truck is running does your brake pedal make a pretty loud click when you press/depress?  It sounds like it’s coming from below the steering wheel?

I cannot recall if mine comes on when I open the door or not. I think it does after I shut the door though. As for the loud click, yes I have heard that. I believe it is just a sensor for the brake being depressed so the vehicle can start and be taken out of park.

I might have not noticed it until I looked for issues after the dealership haha. Would you mind checking when you get a chance if your screen comes on when you open the door?  Thank you!

The DIC comes on when I open the door but the screen for the center stack does not come on until I close it. It flashes the bowtie.

The brake pedal "click" is so you can pull the shifter out of park. The actuator or solenoid is activated to allow the column shifter to move.
