No fuel filter?

Recommended Posts

Federal emissions requirements includes vapor emissions from the gas tank and to eliminate it MFR's were required to go to returnless fuel systems to avoid circulating fuel and heating it up. Returnless systems in GM vehicles starting in or around 2003 eliminated the line fuel filter and added a larger lifetime of the pump filter since the fuel isn't circulated anymore. There are millions of vehicles all over the U.S using this system and many get 20000+ miles on a pump.

Is it true that this generation of Suburbans has no service-able fuel filter? I just can’t find a part for my 2011 Suburban 2500.

Thanks!

Its in the tank and part of the pump.  Not serviceable..

In Justin's case that would be pump in the plural!  He has 2 fuel tanks and 2 pumps.

Really?  I’m not aware of this as a “fresh”owner. Thanks!

Yessir!  The second tank is above the spare tire, it is 11.4 gallons and the main is 26 gallons.  Moving fuel between them is fully automated.

Good luck with it, they are great trucks!
